hi! i make it very clear in the very first paragraph that this is an au where beck sees peter for the first time when they are both adults. if you read even further, there is a great deal of affection and respect between the two of them, but nothing explicitly romantic, leave alone sexual. there are several ways to depict a relationship between two people, and i wrote this to be complex and thorny but full of love.

i do understand why you might be put off by even the prospect of having these two involved, and, after a quick look at your blog, why you're repulsed even if they are aged up. i added all the appropriate warnings and disclaimers when i posted this to ao3, and it is entirely my fault that i neglected to do the same here.

there are multiple versions of peter across all media, and i mixed and matched what i liked in this fic. beck was definitely from the mcu bc that is the mysterio i am most familiar with, but peter here is inspired more by his ps4 incarnation and from the comics.

I remember what Dr Weller said what I’m trying to ask is how did he know for sure?

What we and Weller know during that conversation:

While pilots are in their Holons they exist like computer code and can be copied and manipulated like computer code.

The Union were able to take the hard-drive with the Original Chase on it during an attack.

There is Union made Holon running around using tactics and behaviours just like Chase.

The person controlling that Holon says that they are the Original Chase.

From that information all Dr Weller can say for certain is that the Chase he is talking to is a copy, and that the Chase controlling Nemesis believes himself to be the original.

Unless I’ve forgotten Weller doing/talking about some kind of remote scan that had a way to tell the difference between copies and an original then all he can do is guess and make assumptions just the same as everyone else.
