this is what i found: "It's the infra-red transmitting LED for the proximity detector. It shouldn't come on that bright but there have been reports of problems after upgrading the OS." what OS is your iphone running on right now?

os as in ios? i have ios 9.0.2 atm. and that might explain it, the red light only appears when it's dark haha. thanks!!
