A Holiday Legacy - Home

The halls of the Llewelyn Manor were decked in the finest pine garland Henry could find. A tree stood in the marble foyer just waiting to be decorated and Siobhan was certain that not even Reuben would be able to reach the top to add the star. Perhaps she could if she were standing on his shoulders, even that was questionable. The two were sure to have fun attempting to climb and decorate the massive centerpiece. The tree in the main sitting room had already been decorated with crystals and cranberries and a pile of gifts for the few members of the Llewelyn family. Even in the remote recesses of the home, the scent of warm gingerbread filled the air. Like the unused bedrooms of the upper floors, the house was quiet. The manor was always quiet. Siobhan liked quiet, but a quiet home near the holidays seemed wrong.

Reuben was due to arrive any minute. While his presence at the manor was always eagerly awaited, he was a man of few words and didn’t do much to ease the eerie quietness in the home. The same could be said for Galen who would be arriving in a matter of days, once he returned from visiting his brother at his new home for the holidays. Though they were quiet, Siobhan looked forward to the sound of their laughter and the tinkering on the piano that Galen was certain to provide. His carols, some serious, some funny, some he’d written himself, were a beloved tradition that Siobhan just couldn’t wait to enjoy.

One sound that always made Siobhan happy was her father’s laughter. It caught her off guard as she entered the kitchen, seeking the source of the lovely gingerbread smell. “Siobhan! Great news! You’ll have another guest from school joining us for the holidays. I’ve sent Henry to prepare an extra guest room for him. See, I’ve given my men the week off. Reuben will be helping us tend to the dragons and is bringing a friend who is going into the business as well. Reu said you might know him... Will Berkely?

Siobhan’s smile and her gingerbread dropped. “William Berkeley? He’s spending Christmas here? With my family? Reuben, Galen, and William Berkely? I know him. Sonofabitch,” she grumbled, suddenly wishing she hadn’t hoped for a full house for Christmas. Things would get lively, indeed, if he even dared to start in on their never-ending debates on dragonology, astronomy, quidditch, and generally every other topic they could find to argue.

Edwin watched as his daughter scooped up her gingerbread and turned to the door in a huff. “Siobhan, why don’t you take that to the library. It sounds like we need to talk about this. He’s not our guest because he wants to ruin your holiday. From what I understand, he’s had a challenging year. A horrible year. He could use some time away from home right now. You obviously don’t care much for him so I will ask one single question. Does having him join us make you feel unsafe?”

“Having that pain in the ass around here makes me feel annoyed, angry, irritated, and bothered,” she crossed her arms and pictured the smug look on his face when he spoke about his plans to study in Norway. She pleaded to whatever powers that be that she wouldn’t have to work with him when her upcoming tour of the world’s finest dragon sanctuaries took her in his direction.

“I said unsafe, Siobhan. If you, the family, or the dragons are at risk by incompetence or maliciousness, we can find another plan. Otherwise, you’ll need to be a better host to our guest,” he said. He was uncharacteristically stern, but she appreciated his concern for safety. As much as she didn’t want William’s dumb face around, she had no reason to deny him the chance to work with real dragons and escape from the challenges he was facing at home. Everyone had heard the whispers in the Ravenclaw common room about his sister’s illness.

“William will be a great addition to the family… no, staff… for a weekend. You’ll find his opinions on soothing a teething Vipertooth especially… fascinating,” she mumbled through clenched teeth.

A big thanks to @beloved-bucky @that-scouse-wizard & @cursebreakerfarrier for letting Siobhan celebrate the holidays with her favorite people - all is calm, all is bright at the Llewelyn Manor... for now

okay it’s so dumb how much i love this, but Abbi’s so short compared to Ernest (@endlessly-cursed) (seriously, man’s like 6’4” and she’s like 5’2” lmao) so she always has to stand on her tippy toes just to give him a kiss, but sometimes she’ll just pull him down and kiss him

1. Holiday headcanon

for Halloween, it’s tradition for William to make little harmless jokes or play harmless pranks on his closest friends. they’ve grown to expect it, but that doesn’t stop him from trying every year

10. Physical appearance headcanon

using this to talk about my favorite feature of William’s— his hair lmao

so William’s hair is naturally very wavy, but it never looks out of place…unless it’s after a quidditch match, then it’s very unruly and probably something that Prim (@endlessly-cursed) would joke about lmao

14. Dancing headcanon

for the longest, William really couldn’t dance that well. it wasn’t until about his fifth year that he really started to become better at it (mostly because he wanted to impress Stella (@cursebreakerfarrier))

16. Anger headcanon

it’s not too often that anyone would see William truly angry. it takes quite a bit to get him riled up, but he is someone that you wouldn’t want to provoke to that point. (just ask Archibald😂)

17. Soft spot headcanon

so it’s a bit of a no-brainer, but his biggest soft spot is Stella (@cursebreakerfarrier). she’s really the only thing that could take his attention away from the dragons, which are his second biggest soft spot

I spent my weekend absent from this blog and watching films (which was heaven) and I finally watched ‘High-Rise’ which I have to say is one of the weirdest films I’ve ever seen but Tom Hiddleston & Jeremy Irons were in it so I couldn’t argue. Galen Stagg

Yeah I know I’ve already mentioned Galen but he’s my favourite don’t tell anyone else so he absolutely has to go on this list. Even as a rugged adult, he has a heart of gold and still cries when Nifflers are born, but he’s so passionate and dedicated to his work and that’s something I admire. He’s simultaneously hot and adorable, is a huge bookworm, loves to bake, will give you his coat even when he’s cold himself, and treasures his little family above everything else. Despite the anger he has towards his father, he never lets it take over his life and ensures that both he and Hadrian are there for each other and for Elspeth. He’s just ray of sunshine and he wouldn’t be the same boy he was almost a year ago without darling @kc-and-co and Siobhan <3

Basil Keaton

Basil definitely deserves some more love on this blog. He embodies so many Slytherin traits like ambition and cunning, but he’s also very Hufflepuff in that he cares more for others and is very hardworking. He vowed to himself as a young boy that when he was older and richer he’d help out other orphans too so they wouldn’t have to endure so much isolation and loss, wanting more than anything to give them a living home- one he wished he had when he was small. I also love his thick-as-thieves relationship with Genevieve Davenport @gaygryffindorgal and also the one he has with Brady Pendleton in which they share so much admiration and respect for one another :’)

Emerson Page

Ahh yes my bastard son. My loveable bastard son. I honestly never thought I’d love Emerson as much as I do now. And for other people to love him too? And to use him in fics and stuff?? That makes me so happy I can’t tel you. I also didn’t have a particular plan when creating Emerson but I knew he had to be eccentric, trouble-making, and too witty for his own good. From there Emerson sort of told me what to do which is totally expected of him: he’s always been a leader and does everything out of his own interest and the interests of those who he considers to be practically family, such as Frederick Lavigne @slytherindisaster

Reginald ‘Rex’ Brokenshire

My newest HPHL OC! I already mentioned his partner-in-crime Eli for this celebration so now it’s Rex’s turn. My favourite thing about him is that he completely defies his father and dismantles the Brokenshire legacy of being vampire hunters. It saddens him in a way because it’s his flesh and blood and destroying their reputation was almost like destroying his own life, but it’s a relief because no more vampires have to suffer. His friendship with Eli has very quickly become one of my favourites and they already have so much potential; they bring out the best in each other and I’m definitely going to dig into Rex’s relationship with his father very soon ;)

Edwin ‘Ed’ Llewelyn — @kc-and-co

My love for Daddy Ed is infinite. Not only is he the best father to Siobhan, but to his adopted kids lol. Galen was always incredibly lucky and grateful to know Edwin and Edwin was a hero of his growing up, reading all about magical creatures even before he got to Hogwarts. But to then have him as a friend, a confidante, and later as a father-in-law just blew his mind. Even as an adult Galen gets a little giddy over. Edwin is strong, hot, awesome, and quite frankly one of the best OCs out there and I also love his relationship with Henry 🥺

William Berkeley — @beloved-bucky

William is an angel and deserves so much love. As another adopted Llewelyn, he’s part of such an awesome group of people and my gal Stella is such a lucky lady to call him her own. I’ve had Stella for so long that I thought she’d never find love, but it turns out that a tall, dark, handsome stranger walked into her life and changed it for the better lol. I hope we see a lot of William content this year!

Phineas Falcon — @endlessly-cursed

Phineas was an instant favourite. A Gryffindor alumni, a magical creature expert, a jokester, an loving dad, and with Tom Hardy as a faceclaim? What’s not to like? Despite a turbulent relationship with his ex-wife, Phineas is an amazing dad to Emmeline who becomes like a sister to Eli’s daughter Zelda after they themselves become very good friends and colleagues. I can’t wait for more Phineas content and to talk more about his relationship with Eli!!
