BRO U CAN DIE FROM BEING RUN OVER BY MARSHALL 😭😭😭😭😭😭
I'll get way more in-depth about this later (+ reblog I made below), I think that Bell and Case are far more interesting characters when they're "perfect failures". By that I mean that they're proofs of concepts, but ultimately they're not perfect tools.
Case is a powerhouse, he's so resilient he can take Juggernauts down effortlessly in a fist fight, and he's far faster than what anyone should be comfortable with... but Case is too principled, he can't mercilessly slaughter for Pantheon like he's supposed to (much to Jane's frustration), he can't do everything that he's told based on that alone. He rebels against his "creators".
Bell is too resilient and stubborn, they could never be controlled forever, eventually they were going to wrestle out of the control of Adler and the CIA. (I genuinely can not think of any other reason as to why Adler would've killed Bell. If he had perfect control over Bell, then it makes sense that they would be kept rather than killed because Perseus IS. NOT. GONE. That organization is still around by the end of BOCW, and Bell probably had SO much info on it.
I also don't see health failings being a problem, given how they were robust enough to show up at the Rebirth Islands for the mission.)
Yet, they did, for a quite a while, have Bell's very identity under lock and key. It was locked away and never supposed to be given back, and they did, for that time, have complete control over this poor fucker. The perfect proof of concept that complete mind control is possible.
But then again, there were always signs that Bell was fighting back in little ways, so maybe, there were just too many x factors and they didn't have the control they thought they did.
"CIA this" and "CIA that." Shut up, Case is listening to the Barbie theme song while he drives. 💅🏻

Emergence - Behind each arena
Thought this mission was chaotic af. Didn't expect zombies to be in the campaign since they literally have a separate mode for that but anyways let's take a lil dive into EMERGENCE.
⚠️WARNING: Spoilers for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6
-Advanced Combat Research-
For this section, we obtain a grappling hook and need to defeat the director of ACR with the help of some sentries.
I wasn't actually sure about this one since the zombies were just well....zombies that looked like guards. However, that said, the big guy we had to defeat was just a Cerberus/three-headed-dog-like figure.
-Administration-
For this keycard, we have to find the reports and slot them into the holders and this red mannequin comes to life (along with the others...)
Red is an interesting choice. It stands out from the rest and if we think back to Cold War, you'd remember red being used A LOT throughout the campaign.
Anyways, once it's free, the red mannequin goes on the run (a bit like Adler) and we have to chase it, the voice in Case's head saying, "I knew we couldn't trust him," and if we fire at it, the voice mentions, "Bullets are nothing to him," possibly referring to Adler being hardened by his years of service.
He cracks when we reel him in and get too close and then he pushes us away. The cracks remind me of Adler's scars - mental and physical. In fact, the mannequins actually take on the form of Adler mostly as well in this room. A coincidence? I think not.
After the initial phase, the red mannequin transforms into the monster as seen in the third image and again, we get another piece of dialogue - "See? He's a monster, just like the rest of them."
The thing that comes to mind here is Adler's nickname - America's monster.
-Joint Projects-
To acquire this keycard, we play some prop hunt basically! Objects around the room will rattle, signifying the monster's whereabouts and we have to sneak up on it and fire or it will disappear again - kind of alluding to the idea of secrecy, a core theme of Black Ops.
What's interesting to me is the fact that the zombie engages in a prop hunt like game with Case...like being on the move constantly and watching your back when others get too close to the truth perhaps.
We know that Sevati Dumas is the queen of disguise, excelling at being hidden in plain sight so this definitely fits her and that's why we see her in this arena.
-Cognitive Research-
During this phase, we have to drain some water to get the keycard and kill the big guy who's residing in the bathysphere.
The voice in Case's head seems to focus on rage here. I think for this part, there was a mix of Marshall, Sev and Adler zombies.
On escape, we see a Woods horde charging towards us. If we consider the theme of rage, we can certainly see where Woods' anger lies - Hudson and Mason's death especially to Woods' being kneecapped by Menendez and how that's mentally affected him, leading him to suffer. Hence, this is a part of the "cognitive research" bit.
-Biotechnology-
For this phase, we have to defeat a friggin' levitating zombie.
I thought this one was very reminiscent of Case...almost like it's his true form. He's essentially fighting himself for this one, just like looking in a mirror, right?
Troy and Sev zombies can be seen, most likely because this is where the three of them all are in reality.

If you made it this far, thank you so much for reading! I'd love to hear your thoughts on this mission <3

Spreading the NeuCal agenda:
Felix is hovering at the door when Marshall, Sevati, and Case return from the lab. Case was compromised, his mind overtaken by the Cradle, and Felix had sat at his desk and listened, eyes closed, as his friends called for Case. He needs to see Case with his own eyes, to confirm that he’s okay.
But he isn’t. Case is passed out, his weight between Marshall and Sev, his arms over their shoulders. Sevati tugs Case away from Marshall and he falls like a weight towards Felix. Felix’s arms shoot around him in an instant, eyes wide and breathing uneven. He drags Case up to his bed, laying him out and anxiously stripping him of anything he could hurt himself on or that may get in the way of medical attention.
He reaches for the mask but hesitates, afraid that when Case wakes up he’ll be afraid, or maybe even mad at Felix for exposing him, for perceiving him. Case was always covered head to toe. He shakes his head and forces himself to remove it so he could better keep track of symptoms. Case’s lips are blue and Felix tucks a blanket over him. He stands awkwardly over Case for half an hour until he realizes how creeped out Case would be if he woke up and Felix was standing over him. Felix rushes down to the kitchen and busies himself making soup for Case. He hates how little he knows about what foods Case likes but tries to include herbs and vegetables from the few plates Case had ever cleared.
