Oooh what about how the Blops characters react to being sick?? Cuz I think Frank is a mess. I think Adler lies. I think Sev gets bloodthirsty.

When they're sick: Black Ops

Adler: Absolutely not sick. Him staring off to space is normal, pay attention. No he doesn't have the sniffles, you're hearing things. He's fine, he normally sleeps twelve hours straight, not because he took too much cold medicine.

Woods: He's normal until someone asks, then it's a bitch fest. Everything hurts, he can't breathe. He might be dying, he caught a very deadly virus. The dizzy spells is his soul attempting to leave him.

Mason: Working through it. He's taking medication hourly. Is it safe? He doesn't know but he'll be fine. He stuck his face in the icebox to cool off and ran the electric bill up.

Marshall: Refuses to take any medicine. Raw dogging whatever illness has him in its clutches. He believes in natural selection, no man-made intervention.

Lazar: He never gets sick. He'll get a little cough. What's a fever outside an infection? That doesn't exist.

Sims: He's normal. He takes medication as recommended. No work, he takes sick days. Turns off his phone and relaxes. Sick days are his personal days. Don't call him, he won't pick up.

Park: She gets weird. Takes a strange home remedy that makes her act... not herself. Absolutely is having the time of her life until she isn't. She's crying over someones sniffing flowers on TV. Very next day she's fine, nothing happened. Nothing you can prove.

Hudson: He's missing for a week and just pops back into existence, the exact same. There's a sniffle and he disappears. He refuses to show weakness.

Sev: Hissed at someone trying to touch her tea supply. She gets a special blend, anyone tries to touch it they're dead.

Felix: Made a giant pot of soup the moment he felt under the weather. Teas ready, medicine ready. Water is rationed out. Hot baths, good sleep schedule. The moment he feels better he reverts back to only sleeping maybe six hours a night and drinking nothing but sparkling water.

Case: Doesn't get sick. If he does no one has ever seen him act any different. Untouched by man-made problems (Was in a medicine induced coma, enforced by Alder, because he went feral the moment he sneezed in his mask).

Bell: Laughs if someone gets sick near them. Unbothered, chugs their beer and dares nature to try them.

I'll get way more in-depth about this later (+ reblog I made below), I think that Bell and Case are far more interesting characters when they're "perfect failures". By that I mean that they're proofs of concepts, but ultimately they're not perfect tools.

Case is a powerhouse, he's so resilient he can take Juggernauts down effortlessly in a fist fight, and he's far faster than what anyone should be comfortable with... but Case is too principled, he can't mercilessly slaughter for Pantheon like he's supposed to (much to Jane's frustration), he can't do everything that he's told based on that alone. He rebels against his "creators".

Bell is too resilient and stubborn, they could never be controlled forever, eventually they were going to wrestle out of the control of Adler and the CIA. (I genuinely can not think of any other reason as to why Adler would've killed Bell. If he had perfect control over Bell, then it makes sense that they would be kept rather than killed because Perseus IS. NOT. GONE. That organization is still around by the end of BOCW, and Bell probably had SO much info on it.

I also don't see health failings being a problem, given how they were robust enough to show up at the Rebirth Islands for the mission.)

Yet, they did, for a quite a while, have Bell's very identity under lock and key. It was locked away and never supposed to be given back, and they did, for that time, have complete control over this poor fucker. The perfect proof of concept that complete mind control is possible.

But then again, there were always signs that Bell was fighting back in little ways, so maybe, there were just too many x factors and they didn't have the control they thought they did.
