Here’s one of our winning picks for today, David Simcock’s Medicean Melody. She travelled well off the pace before being produced with a sustained effort closest to the stands´ rail to get off the mark at her seventh attempt, but although where she raced was probably to her advantage she clearly relished these conditions.

William Haggas’s 3-year-old put in a solid performance to take the PMW Communications Maiden Fillies' Stakes (Div I) at Lingfield this afternoon. The tip sees us back in winning ways after a little drought: as the Racing Post analysis of the race stated - “This looked an interesting fillies´ maiden. Three of the first four were newcomers and winners should come out of it. REJAAH, out of a winner over this trip, moved smoothly into contention rounding the final bend and despite hanging right in the straight, saw it out well. She can go on to better things.”
Tuesday May 26 picks
A rather disappointing day today with several of yesterday’s picks ending up as non-runners: Tuesday offers some nice value bets all late on in the afternoon from trainers with great records at the tracks. First up at Leicester is Sir Michael Stoute’s Russian Heroine (12-1) at 4:30. Ten minutes later at Lingfield (AW) is Willaim Haggas’s Reejah (7-1). Then at Leicester at 5.00 is Charlie Hill’s Dark Crescent, followed in the 5:30 by Roger Varian’s Munira Eyes (4-1). Here’s hoping for a return to some winning form!!!
Last tips of Week 1 - Friday 22nd May
Now for our last tips of the week - aiming to make it five days of winners on the trot (bad pun intended!). All our tips are at Haydock where first up is Snap Shots, a Tom Dascombe horse running in the 3:40 (5-1). Should cope nicely with the forecast Good to Soft Ground. Then at 4:15, a William Haggas horse It’s Gonna Be Me (4-1 generally), followed by another of Mr.Haggas’s stable Wekeyll in the 4:50 (11-1). With a 33% strike rate for his 3 year-olds at the track, these last two bets are a no brainer.
Not only has Sheikh Hamdan's super filly Taghrooda been retired from racing today, 13 October 2014, the sheikh's Mukhadram has been retired as well.
Mukhadram’s final race was to be the Champion Stakes at Ascot on 18 October, but “it became apparent the ground would be too soft for him to contest his end of season target …” Read more here.
"Mukhadram's retired too. It's too wet at Ascot, but he's been a tough, consistent performer and he's a fine, big, good-looking horse so we hope he'll appeal to breeders," said the sheikh's racing manager Angus Gold.
While Taghrooda will join her owner’s broodmare band, Mukhadram will be retired to his owner's Shadwell Stud.
The William Haggas-trained son of Shamardal and Magic Tree, foaled on 6 April 2009, is the winner of five races from 16 starts, including the 2012 Wood Ditton Stakes, 2013 Brigadier Gerard Stakes and this year’s Coral-Eclipse Stakes. He ran second in the 2013 Prince Of Wales’s Stakes behind Al Kazeem, third in the 2013 Coral-Eclipse also behind Al Kazeem, second to African Story in the 2014 Dubai World Cup and third behind Taghrooda in the King George VI and Queen Elizabets Stakes. He won £1,968,250 in pricemoney.
