One of the things I’m enjoying about spending more time in Sonoma is tasting high-quality white wines. Last night we tasted two classics from Sonoma County - 2018 Littorai Chenin Blanc from the Haven Vineyard on their estate property near Occidental: and 2018 Williams Selyem from grapes grown in the Fort Ross-Seaview AVA at over 1200 feet of elevation. I guessed (incorrectly) that the Chenin spent time on oak since it was so silky and had such great mouthfeel. I’ve since learned it was stainless steel fermented but aged 18 months on the Lee’s. A real beauty of a wine. The Williams Selyem was also a beauty - again I would guess it spent time in at least neutral oak. Beautifully structured, full-bodied, aromatic, and flavor that is so unique for Sonoma Chard. Both of these wineries define Sonoma wine. ————————————————————— #littoraiwines #littorai #williamsselyem #williamsselyemwinery #chardonnay #cheninblanc #whitewine #whitewinelover #winetasting #winetime #wineoclock #wineo #winelife #sonomacounty #somoma #sonomavalley #sonomavalleywine #sonomawine #sonomawinecountry #sonomastrong (at Mom´S Beach, Forestville) https://www.instagram.com/p/CJ9IuNRr217/?igshid=1cl66pox7xnds
