How do you make an alphabet book with no words? I'm not always a fan of wordless picture books, but I love any book that is engaging and spurs the imagination. William Wondriska's "A Long Piece of String" (1963, reissued 2010) definitely fits that bill, which explains it's longevity. 📚📙📗 A starkly illustrated book, in only black, white, and a rich, eye-catching orange-red, readers follow the titular "long piece of string" from page to page, as it entangles a parade of objects and animals with alphabetical names. My own nieces, always impatient, loved the game of naming everything as we went along. ⚫ ⚫ ⚫ #noodlenutsclassickidlit #noodlenutskidsbooks #alongpieceofstring #williamwondriska #holtrinehartandwinston #1960sbooks #1963 #1960skidsbooks #childhoodunplugged #booknerd #magicofchildhood #alphabet #alphabetbook #alphabetbooks #abcbooks #abcbook #abcs #learningthealphabet #childrensbook #wordless #wordlessbook #wordlesspicturebook #wordlesspicturebooks #vintagepicturebooks #bookswithoutwords #earlyyears #conceptbooks #conceptbook #earlyreading #oldbooks https://www.instagram.com/p/B1mTi3dHCwh/?igshid=96800o7yfd2i
