I’m sorry, but since when was Williem Defoe allowed to be this cute? There’s gotta be a law against this somewhere.

Doğu Ekspresinde Cinayet / Murder on the Orient Express
Murder On The Orient Express (non spoiler)
11-26, Sunday
As I told you yesterday, that just by chance I watch again Pirates of the Caribbean, it seems that also by chance, this weekend, was my Johnny Depp´s weekend. My cousin, few years younger than me, and a great young phisicyst, who is planning to move to USA to get his P.H.D (I call him my own personal Sheldon Cooper), bought tickets to go to the movies, and we went to see Murder On The Orient Express. Now we already have tickets to see the new Star Wars, so as you can see or read, we are huge nerds or geeks or even a little bit freaks! But you know, Nerd is the new Black! We are both only children, so we grew up very close as brother and sister, and have great time together, if he moves, I´m really going to miss him.
But returning to the present, we both went to the cinema with high expectations about this new adaptation of the Agatha Christie´s classic. We knew the story, there were no mystery for us to solved, we´ve red it many times in summer, while we were kids trying to pretend that we were Hercules Poirot, or Sherlock Holmes, arguing about which one of them was the best detective ever, (it was not until we grew older that we understand that they were different), or just imagining us travelling in those trains. Fortunately, by the end of the movie, we weren’t disappointed; we went the whole way back home chatting about the story, the cast, the interpretations, the difference with the original book, and the similarities. We agreed that we can easily picture Kenneth Branagh as Hercules, and I think that one of the main successes of the film is the great cast: from Johnny Depp, in his not so big but determinant role, to Penelope Cruz and Willem Defoe. The movie is stylish, beautifully filmed, and with imaginative and clever dialogues, that help to develop the story quite smooth. All the characters are in their perfect fit, and the time they are in screen it´s just in perfect equilibrium. All of them are main characters and it´s hard to say which one is more important than the other. You can find Judy Dench shinning in perfect harmony with Michelle Pfeifer or Marwan Kenzari. I don’t know if this new remake is going to get the status of a classic, as the one filmed in 1974, but I can tell you that is really enjoyable and if you don’t know the end of the story, a locked room mistery, is always truly seductive.
