Meet Willow Thomas
Willow is Sadie's ex from med school
They met in a Facebook group before starting med school because they were both looking for roommates
They became best friend pretty much immediately and lived together all throughout med school
Very roommates-to-lovers
They eventually broke up at the end of med school because they were going to different places for their residencies and Sadie didn't believe they would be able to handle a long distance relationship and residency
But before they started fighting about long distance vs. breakup Willow had actually bought Sadie an engagement ring, although she never got the chance to use it
Sadie finds out about the engagement ring years later when Willow shows up at Edenbrook (I'm working on this fic rn!)
