workshop 12.10.2020: Making nibbed pens from willow and manufacturing other drawing tools from a collection of organic materials as seen above.
Learning how to sharpen the willow twig to a point and also with a flat tip. Willow is an excellent, flexible material to make various shaped marks; thin, thick, fine point, flat stroke. Beautiful markings can be used when dabbed in Indian ink and used on paper.
Combined twig with thistles, twig with soft leaves, and also bundles of pine needles to produce my very own drawing tools. Using simple threads or string to hold together the ‘handle’ with the ‘brush’ when required. As was pointed out during the workshop, these tools can be made with organic materials and so can be 100% biodegradable, lessening our environmental impact when used for #biophilia.
I’m sorry, I didn’t realise that I’d fallen for your charming smile and daydreamy eyes.
