Kenyon Day 3
Today was filled with loads of tennis and loads of smiles. Campers were all ready for Day 3 knowing what to expect after yesterday. I was very intrigued by the fact that this crew really is a happy bunch and they all really, really enjoy tennis. We started to see friendships forming and that is always very heartwarming for me. Personalities are starting to show and it’s making the camp far, far more interesting. Mornings were filled once again with fed ball and live ball drills and points playing. The afternoon included video time for all their backhands. And then competition as well for their drilling groups tomorrow. Seeing them compete and how they move up or down everyday is so interesting. So much of tennis is between the ears that putting the pressure on the campers to compete makes them toughen up and ready for competition all the time. It’s an amazing transformations really. Our quote for the day is “Breakdowns before breakthroughs.” We didn't see as many breakdowns as we usually do so they all did well in handling the pressure that we put on them today.
The end of the afternoon saw us all jumping in the indoor swimming pool for some cool off time before dinner. And then it was relaxing time for the kids as tomorrow is going to be another day packed with tennis and fun.
