He leans harsh with the dead, but it would be a lie to say he’s completely untouched. She looks young. It’s sad. Bleak, too—an eternity of unresolved teenage angst awaits her. With that in mind, it wouldn’t be a surprise if she did lose her mind faster than the average ghost. Still, it’s obvious she isn’t there yet; she’s completely coherent, her form is solid enough that one could mistake her for alive. Holding up well.

He smiles.          “I can guarantee I’m crazier than you. By a mile.”

did i scare you? - for kitty!

❛ Do I look scared to you? ❜ It's not easy to sneak up on someone who has spent a large percentage of their life as a feline. Her guard is always up, especially in creepy houses like the one she's in now. But no, she's not scared. Annoyed, yes and perhaps slightly intrigued. (Curiosity is her biggest downfall.) Kitty makes a note of the way her hair prickles up at the girl's presence, eyes scanning her for anything remotely out of the ordinary.

THERE IS NO MISTAKING IT. HE KNOWS WHAT HE’S SEEING, and he’s got mixed feelings about it. That house is a fucking nexus, he can tell even without stepping foot into it — it pulls him closer, and if it weren’t for his anchor — his skull — he may even be compelled to follow that pull. But he’s safe, here on this side of the fence — if he had a heart, it would ache for @wiltfllower though.

She’s not so lucky, by the looks of it, swallowed up whole and stuck there like a dog on a short leash with a prong collar. And she’s just a kid, too — not that he was much older when he went, but…

She’s the first one he’s seen — like him, fully formed, not missing parts of herself or half there. He steps closer, tentatively, hands grip at the fence posts, face poking through. He’s smiling so bright — should he even be smiling? They are both dead…

“ Hey! ” He says, maybe with his mouth, maybe without, “ You dead too? ”

He’s   definitely   heard   about   this   place,     many times, during his research or through word of mouth — you’re a ghost hunter! In Los Angeles! And you’ve never investigated THE Murder House? It was hard to pin down a time to, what with it being sold to other families or just plain unavailable for one reason or another. 

But eventually he got it, the permission he needed to check the place out. He’s sick with excitement — this is huge! His viewers are gonna love this.

But the house wasn’t the hoax he thought it was — there are so many places that he’s investigated that have a spooky coat of paint, but underneath it all it’s nothing but cheap parlor tricks and hidden speakers. Standing on the lawn, by himself     ( because Salem MacTavish will never learn his fucking lesson )     he can feel the pull, the hungry maw of the house. The spirits within him shrivel and hide. Alice begs him not to go in, but it feels so natural for him to be there — as a door might feel at home in a house. 

He wanders, he isn’t paying attention to where he’s going, he lets the house lead him — to a bedroom on the second floor. Large, specious. Cozy. He’s not alone. 

“ Sorry, didn’t mean to just — walk in like that. ”     Salem is broken out of his trance. His brow furrows. Is she…? Whether she is or not, introductions are in order. He smiles at @wiltfllower, charming as ever.     “ Name’s Salem. You got one? ”
