Repair Photo of the Month: December 2015
Presenting the winning entry and runners-up in Magicman’s monthly photo competition.
The phone call we receive most at Magicman’s call centre is the one telling us about the repair job that can’t possibly be done and we don’t exactly help ourselves by pulling it off time after time, no matter how impossible it may seem. Imagine how difficult it is to show just what is achievable when your job is to make damage disappear.
Our solution was to run a UK-wide photo competition amongst all our Repair Technicians. We asked them to take Before & After photos of the jobs they are allocated and submit the results to Magicman CEO Mark Henderson who is on the look out for the most technically difficult or unusual examples every month.
This month’s winner is Lindy with this restoration of a window frame
December’s winner, chosen shortly before she received her Pride in the Job Award was Lindy who restored a huge chunk taken out of a window frame. What a great month it has been for her and all thoroughly deserved.
Runner-up Andre with a wallpaper repair that they said couldn't be done.
We don’t have a 2nd, 3rd or 4th place but we do have 3 runners-up, all taking equal credit for their great work. Wallpaper repairs are a rarity so no wonder customers think they are impossible but Andre proved otherwise by making a horrible set of scratches disappear. Imagine the cost and disruption caused if ta section had to be re-wallpapered. Assuming you could find the same design. Even worse if you have to do the entire room again.
Runner-up window cill repair by Tom
Damage to window cills whether made of wood, uPVC or stone can look like new as illustrated by runner-up Tom.
Runner-up Dean makes a worktop pan burn disappear
And last but not not least, Dean shows how a common problem, a pan burn on a worktop can be turned into a show-stopping repair thanks to Magicman technology.
Our congratulations (and a little financial bonus) go to all four of them. For more examples of Before and After photos, visit our Instagram page or come back again in 2016 to see next month’s winners.
