If Microsoft hadn’t cancelled Windows Neptune, the entire early‑2000s Windows timeline would look radically different — and honestly, way cleaner. Neptune was supposed to be the consumer NT OS, so imagining it surviving gives us a very coherent alternate lineage. It would be the gap between Windows 2000/Windows ME and Windows XP.
