So, the photo caption calls the guy with Tom, Shane... I wonder if there's any relation to Tom.

I just have to say if @walker-extended-universe ‘s incorrect quote post about Hoyt needing to borrow a skull from Kai, and Kai having one proves relevant because they need to pretend to find Abby’s body, I will laugh. HARD.
Bouncing off of @small-scale-majestic's theory:
Let's say Tom got sent to the asylum after the Civil War. The horrors of war are bad enough but he, like many young men, was fed the lie of the glory of war so he had disillusion to deal with on top of everything else. Not to mention he likely had family members that entered the war. Brothers, cousins, etc.... And since he has family all over the country, he could've either been fighting next to them or against him. Imagine finding out you killed a member of your own family in battle.... Anyone would have a breakdown after that.
We also know that his father is "a hard man to please". It's reasonable to think he could've abandoned his son because he was no longer "fit".
Then there's also the question of how the aslyum treated him.... The range of car available would've depended on how much momey his family would've been willing to spend and the individual caretakers too.
And why did Teresa take him in? Did she take him on as a pet project or did she always care for him? And is the rest of the family aware of what she's doing or is this part of a redemption of sorts for Tom?
Since I'm talking about this in pms on two different platforms.
The Winchesters slate versus WIndy.
Supernatural for comparison
People are wondering if it means that WIndy has been ordered to series, as some info suggests. It could also be budget or experience, since this is Chaos Machine's first production.
I was told that Walker was being renewed long before the CW officially renewed it. The crew were told they were going to be renewed months before the CW announced it, so it's possible that something similar happened here and they did tell the WIndy crew that they would be going to series, but are waiting on announcing it.
I just watched the new episode and I have SO MANY thoughts.
1. Abby starts to suspect Tom again now that she found Liam's journal in his cabin. Would probably explain why she's back to the anti-tom party (according to the season finale synopsis), but what she doesn't know is that Shane was in the cabin earlier. It had to be Shane who brought the journal to the cabin.
I mean, they've searched Tom's cabin before, and haven't found the journal, but now that Shane spent time in the cabin it suddenly appears? Doesn't make any sense.
2. Shane shot Gus, again going back to the season finale synposis describing Gus 'holding on to life' and everyone being against Tom. Shane probably shot Gus and fled, and Tom couldn't have gone up against him, neither defend himself because of how beaten up he was.
But I am mostly certain that Tom didn't do any shooting in the last scene- I don't think he could've physically done it (because of what Shane did to him).
Another mini thought I had - at first when seeing the "T. Davidson" in Liam's journal I thought it was meant to refer to Tom for a second but then I remembered there was Tom's aunt, so probably she was the one Liam was meeting up with.
Anyway, I'm quite stressed for Tom. Abby is now suspecting him again, and everyone think he was the one who hurt Gus. I guess we'll have to wait and see 😬
Ooh! Those are some good theories! I'm afraid my brain was too fried last night to even consider the possibilities!
So, if Shane had the journal, and the "T" references Theresa, poor Tom!
I did suspect that people would think Tom shot Gus based on the episode description, but Tom's obviously injured. If they come across both of them, who are they going to think hurt Tom?
Unless Tom leaves (or Shane takes him) and they disappear while Gus is left to be discovered on his own, bleeding out. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out.
I'm looking forward to hopefully learning more about Augustus. I haven't seen any mention of the show delving in to his backstory, but I hope we get there before the end of the first season!
Did Augustus have a family? Wife? Kids? What about parents? Could they have been split up due to slavery? How did he get into law enforcement? I have questions!
Do you think Tom killed Liam or do you think it was Shane? Every week I think I will figure it out but Im always left confused. Shane seemed VERY violent. I thought it was interesting that we never saw Tom be that violent. And everyone is still seems to be upset about Abby thinking its Shane. I think the only person that knows that Abby slept with Tom is Kate.
I think Shane killed Liam, only because I think it would be a travesty if Tom were really the bad guy in that scenario. Story-wise, I think it would work better for Abby to be the one that's right and have to convince the rest of the group then the other way around.
I don't know about Tom not being that violent. We learned tonight that he's killed before (and it sounds like that's what put him in the insane asylum), and he did set up the torture barn... I think there's a violent streak that runs through the Davidson clan, but where Tom and Shane differ would be their motivations.
And I can't imagine the fallout if Hoyt or Calian find out Abby slept with Tom. Guess we'll have to wait and see!

Berlanti, who is currently in Atlanta directing Apple’s Project Artemis, is also expected to focus more on creating scripted originals under his new deal as The CW shifts its business model to profitability and what sources say will be fewer than five U.S. scripted originals.
So 5 is the cap but it sounds like it will be less for scripted originals is what we are looking at them possibly renewing for next season? If I'm reading that right?
While I would take this statement with a grain of salt (sources say?), if it's the case, then yes, the CW will have fewer than five U.S. scripted originals (note the U.S. in that sentence.) Meaning, the CW could be looking to import even more foreign (read Canada and Britain) scripted shows along with the unscripted shows.
Currently, the WB and CBS are contracted through next season to provide 15% of CW's scripted shows. Which equals roughly two shows each (which is where I'm guessing the "sources" got their info. from). After next season, the CW can choose to continue their contract, or they could opt out.
It makes sense for the CW to decrease the studio shows since the profits (including streaming and foreign purchases) for WB and CBS shows go to those studios, and not the CW. They want shows that will generate money for the network, even if that means buying foreign shows, but making up for the purchase with ad/streaming revenue.
Currently, CBS is the sole producer of only two shows on the CW anyway, Walker and Walker: Independence, whereas, the WB has the remaining scripted programming and will have to narrow down their numbers significantly. My guess is, if James Gunn wants to keep Superman & Lois around, that one will carry over for the WB, and the second would be All American. If S&L is canceled, it's likely that AA and AA: Homecoming will be the carryovers (as franchises are typically considered more profitable than one-offs - see Law & Order, NCIS, FBI, The Rookie, etc.).
