Watching Walker right now and does anyone else think that Det. Luna's friend is the Jackal? He said that his friend had a complicated relationship with his mother, and it's curious that they introduced this random friend this late in the season.

One thing I'm losing my mind over in this episode is my theories coming true
I've suspected for the longest time that Sadie was related to the break-in in some way because of how she introduced Stella to Witt and @theladywyn and I speculated that she came to Austin to do just that. We sort of speculated that Sadie was there to essentially do recon for the break-in and that it could be related to something Hoyt did many years ago. That whoever was behind the break-in pointed Sadie in Geri's direction after helping her settle her debts after her mother passed.
This episode feels like a confirmation of that. She knew Witt, she knew there was a woman in charge, and she knew this was all about a necklace- likely a stolen necklace- before Witt even brought it up.
I'm starting to suspect that the reason she hadn't stayed anywhere longer than a few nights while she was gone for those 5 months is because she, like Witt and Stella, was terrified for her life after the break-in. She didn't want to go to the cops at first because she didn't want her record exposed. Now that Witt is alive and could probably vouch as a character witness alongside Stella, she feels like going to law enforcement- specifically Cordell- is the safest move. And she's leaving again because Stella won't follow her reasoning.
I have no idea if the Jackal is actually connected to all this but I wouldn't be surprised if she was in a compromising situation in a later episode.
So like... the necklace is gonna be something Hoyt gave Geri...she'll either have no idea it was so important and/or hocked it when she was having financial trouble and got that loanshark loan...👀👀👀👀
Season 4 will be the last for Walker thanks to the CW so whatever he does Jared won’t be building a brand around that. Jared accepts this and seems quite resigned to it, in a healthy way
Nothing is concrete yet... due to strike, everything is in shambles. But one thing is for sure, and that is... every network is scrambling for content that brings viewership to the channel. From Disney to Netflix and CW to NBC, everyone is trying to get relatable content.
Now CW has already ended the number of its shows... I guess only 4 or 5 of the previous productions have survived. So when the strike ends, they might need familiar shows to retain the audience. So Walker might get a renewal, and creating a brand is necessary for that. Right now, there is nothing written in the stone. Worst case scenario CW goes belly up and none of the show exists or Walker gets chopped the moment strike ends.
No one knows, so the best thing to do for survival is keep the buzz going. to keep it going, one needs to harp on the brand. And, conventions are the easiest way to show strength and create buzz. This is exactly how SPN survived S3 strike. (Interesting how both of Jared shows faced danger of write strike after S3🫨🫨🫨)
Also, not just Walker, but Jared and Gen also got their own production, and they are shopping for a few of the story ideas that they have. These multi fandom cons are great to talk shop. Even in terms of syndication deal for Walker, such multi fandoms will come handy. A brand never goes to waste, if you got an IP now is the time to exploit and build on it.
I think if Liam wasn’t so preoccupied with his own stuff, he’d be the one who might be able to help August since he was in the shadow of an older brother. I wonder how it will play out.
So Jared talking about younger cordell saying it's an easter egg ...so Jake Able or Colin Ford playing young cordell?????
@walker-extended-universe asked:
Wait so did Cordell also get a special exempt pass to being a ranger before he met the qualifications? Did Stan pull some strings for him or something?
It is possible that Cordell was exempted from meeting some of the qualifications for becoming a Ranger, specifically the full eight-years of civilian law enforcement service (he would need at least some leo training). However, he is old enough to have qualified in the prescribed way. No doubt his association with Stan helped and may have been instrumental in Cordell's decision to make law enforcement his career choice but very few, if any, pulled strings were needed for him to join DPS. Would Stan have had the clout in 2006 to pull any strings? Was he even a Ranger himself then?
What about James? Did he have to follow regulations?
Maybe not but I like to think he did and that he insisted touching all the bases, crossing all the t's and dotting all the i's to prove beyond doubt that he was more than just a diversity hire.
And Micki? Did she also get special treatment? We know she was a trooper for a while but she also had some years in at the Austin PD after her military service....
What about Cassie? How did she get in?
Yes, Micki got special treatment. It looks like James created a new position specifically for her since there had to be other better qualified and higher ranking DPS officers aspiring to become a regular Ranger So why did he do it? Probably for the same reason that he told Trey that why he hired Cassie was "to keep an eye on Walker". Now that leads to even bigger whys? Why does James think he needs to keep special eyes on Walker. And why did he hire Trey to "counsel" the other Rangers under his command?
In regard to the Walker finale: what are your thoughts as to Trey being the sniper that shot Stan? What Stan whispered to Cordell after being shot was something personal enough that it visibly floored him. Cordell pulled back in shock, looked at Micki and mouthed her name. Later Capt James spoke to Micki about the new crime syndicate being ex-military and possibly targeting Walker. Trey as a drug cartel operative would give him a purpose other than the overly saccharine love interest of Micki.
I doubt it because they need Trey around as the perfect overly supportive boyfriend to shut down any romantic possibilities between Cordell and Micki as Cordell moves from Emily's death. In the last scene of Emily's ghost she was not interacting with Cordell nor were they silently looking at each other as they previously did. This symbolizes Cordell moving on.
The ex-military part might has to do with fleshing out Cordell's past before starting a family with Emily. They made a point for Aggie to mention Cordell's time in the marine. Up until the finale they only mentioned Cordell's military past once in the pilot.
My twisty theory is the sniper deliberately didn't aim to kill Cordell but to trigger an investigation into the new crime syndicate who does want Cordell dead. I could be wrong but I think the military train snipers to take one shot to the head, not three shots to the chest and arm. If this is true and the sniper is really ex-military, then Cordell may realize something is bigger or more personal is at hand, especially after Stan's passing a secret to him.
