WE KNEW IT ALL ALONG
Au Moulin de la Galette
Dinner
Raise a glass to the goddess
Gammon flavour Tudor crisps. 'Special request'.
Forgotten crisp flavours. Mmm. Mayo.
Tea break. 3pm. Would you ever reach for a bag of delicious golden crisps in, um, peach flavour? How about mayonnaise? Or celery? Banana? Definitely (probs not) passionfruit?
This fruity selection were just some of the flavours tested out by crisp titans Tudors of Tyneside, whose range included chocolate, gammon 'n' pineapple, kipper and hot dog. On reflection, it's not wholly surprising this brand made it big in the 1970s, though they were eventually bought out by the Nabisco, (who own Walkers Crisps).
Info from 'A Brief History of Crisps', a new e-book by 'retro-nerds' Steve Berry and Phil Norman.

Scotland does Sancerre, Thai Sweet Chilli crisps and a bucket of sour cream and chive dip. This is how we do it. Or how Amy does it. Lucky git.
