I have had the silliest idea for a Gravity Falls/Wingfeather Saga crossover:

Wingfeather Falls but it's following the plot of Veggietales: The Star of Christmas

This started off as just a Gravity Falls AU but then I realized I could use the Wingfeather cast to fill in characters I was missing and, well...

So, basically, if you don't know the plot of Veggietales: The Star of Christmas the story is set in late 1800's London and these two friends, Cavis and Milward have seen all the depressing news lately and decided to teach London how to love! .... with a big musical theater show.

So they get the show set up at their uncle's theater to start showing on Christmas Eve and make it fancy with the help of electric lights (ON THE SCENERY!) made by their inventor friend Seymour, who is the entire reason this AU got started because he has a rocket car and, yeah, if you know me you can see where this is going. Anyway though they get this all set up, they have a famous actress in their play and the prince (Britain's number 1 theater critic, the play will fail without a good word from him) coming on opening night.

And then they find out that a local church is putting on a Christmas pageant the same night and Cavis goes to investigate to see if this poses any threat to their show. He finds a bunch of kids building sets and decides it's not a big deal, but he does hear them mention something called "The Star of Christmas" that the kids are being allowed to use in their play. He muses about this on his way out and bumps into a guy who hears him say something about the "Star of Christmas" and launches into its entire history. When Cavis mentions the kids are gonna use it in their play the guy gets excited because the star hasn't been publicly displayed in over a hundred years! And it turns out this guy is also a news reporter and makes this front page news. And when the Prince finds out he decides he's going to the Christmas pageant to see the star instead of the show the boys are putting on

Thus begins all the hijinks and shenanigans as Cavis and Milward try (unsuccessfully) to one-up the Star of Christmas, culminating in them breaking into the church to steal it, nearly dying in the process and then, uh... burning the theater down and the Star with it because they used too many electric lights on stuff and it caused a fire. They're then arrested for Star theft but the pastor of the church and his kid (who the pastor has been teaching the TRUE meaning of Christmas to) come and bail them out, planning to miss the pageant in the process. But then Seymour shows up with the rocket car which sends them in a merry chase across London ("WE GOTTA MAKE IT TO THE CHURCH ON TIME!") they arrive in time to see the pageant and the simple message of Christmas shines through, making Cavis and Milward finally realize that the story of Jesus coming to this earth is the only story that can REALLY teach people to love.

So! on to the cast!

Gravity Falls/theater show side:

Young, portal-era Ford and Stan become Cavis and Milward, respectively (with a few little changes, like I think Ford would insist on writing the play while Stan dealt with hiring people). I think that Ford "I can't destroy my life's work to stop a demon from taking over the world!" Pines really fits Cavis' energy of "We're not STEALING the star, we're just BORROWING it, London is practically BEGGING us to". Stan just loves a good show and his brother.

Fiddleford is Seymour the inventor and this is how the AU started because that man would 100% have a rocket car with the catch that "the breaks only work when you're on the ground". Also Seymour keeps trying to warn Cavis that the electric lights are a fire hazard and Cavis won't listen and if that ain't Portal-era Ford and Fiddleford's dynamic then I don't know what is.

The famous actress they get to play the lead role in the theater, Effie Pickering is Pacifica. They have the same vibe, right down to the purple.

Just had this thought and it's so funny and kind of perfect, Soos can be Winston, the guy Cavis and Milward hire to call people and organize stuff Idk what his actual title is.

Wingfeather/Pageant side:

Artham Wingfeather gets to be the pastor/reverend because 1. I love him and 2. I can see him advising the kids and 3. it means he gets to fly in Fiddleford's rocket car at the end and I need that for him. (he and Fidds end up friends somehow of course akjghagljadkfs)

Janner and Kalmar get to take the place of Edmund, the reverend's son who's trying to organize the pageant because I can see Janner getting stressed about having it ready on time and I can hear Kalmar saying "We've got about 20 pounds of glitter! Do you think that's enough?"

Speaking of glitter! Mabel and Dipper are also helping with the pageant! They have no idea what their uncles are doing, haha!

Sara, Leeli and various other kids from the WFS are also around for the pageant (I'm thinking of Sara's orphans and Galya)

This one is so freaking funny, I'm letting Podo be Moyer the Destroyer, the church caretaker who puts the star out and worries about it being stolen and then chases Cavis and Milward through the church when he catches them stealing it, screaming insults at them. He's "the Destroyer" because he used to be a boxing champion, I think, but he says his "fighting days are behind him". Sounds like Podo the ex-pirate to me!

Me wracking my dang brain trying to figure out who the Prince should be and I had the funny thought that it could be Gammon and Maraly. Maraly is the one who's favorite actress is Pacifica, I think they're secretly friends and Maraly is trying to convince Gammon to adopt Pacifica ("Maraly she has parents" "she has AWFUL parents!") and that's why she drags him to all Pacifica's shows.

Anyway, that's what I got, I just thought it would be very, very funny.
