Imagine owning a winery in southern Oregon.
Imagine drinking your coffee on the porch at dawn, staring out at your vines.
Imagine naming all your wines after literature references.
Imagine.
Just cracked open my second (and last :’( ) bottle of Barão de Vilar 2011 vintage porto (because realistically there was no way I was going to have the patience to age it till 2019 or later, the way everyone says you should). It’s bittersweet. (The moment, not the wine. The wine is just gorgeous and perfect and yummy.) I’m having it for dessert with some Roquefort, and the whole experience is by and large so lovely that I started a new document on my computer called “Experiences I Love in Life”. Every time I realize I’m having a delightful experience that might otherwise rapidly fade in the mists of time and memory, I intend to note it down in this document for future delectation.
Damn, kinda wish Jesus left the recipe for that water to wine spell. I just ran out 😭

Icewine Harvests happened in Niagara last night! The earliest harvest in over 30+ years!

I ate really healthy today. I think I might have a bottle of wine to celebrate!
