90+ Point Wine Shopping

Hastings Liquor Store is trying to make your shopping experience easier. We know you know that we have a huge selection of wines under $20, but did you know that we also have a huge selection of highly rated wines? The showpiece is our 90+Point Under $30 wall that features a rotating selection of some of the best wines we have to offer. We cannot fit all of the “Over 90+ Under $30” wines that we have at the same time, hence the rotation. These wines range in price from $16 to $30 and have all been rated over 90+ points by highly respected wine reviewers. We also have two alcoves where we showcase some over $30 90+ pointers. These are separated into New World (Canada, USA, Australia, Chile, Argentina, New Zealand) and Old World (France, Italy, Spain Portugal). Finally, we have a Special Occasion wine cupboard where we showcase exceptional wines from $60-$225, some have scores as high as 95, 96 and 97 points! What do these scores mean? Score Explanation 95–100 Classic: a great wine 90–94 Outstanding: a wine of superior character and style 85–89 Very good: a wine with special qualities 80-84 Good: a solid, well-made wine

Many wines unfortunately do not get reviewed and may not have point scores. This does not mean they are not good. We are constantly updating our selection and make a point of only bringing in wines that we think represent great value for our customers. Now, whenever you want to buy a special bottle for dinner or to offer as a gift or simply to take away the guess work when looking for something new, all you have to do is head straight for our 90+ point section and you will know you are buying an excellent wine. All of our 90+ point wines have TASTING NOTES created in store by our staff. We have tried these wines and want you to know all about them. We have tried to write our notes in plain English so that they make sense to everyone. As you browse our store we have these posted under all of our store recommended wines. If the wines have a point score the tasting note makes it clear. They describe the aroma and flavour characteristics of the wines and offer food pairing suggestions.
