This is the first time Matthew's been here alone. He's been trying not to think about it. The way he's not even used to arriving before Leon, let alone sleeping alone. Usually, the house is already lit and warm when he gets here. Music fluttering towards him from the communal speakers dotted through every level, and he just has to follow the sound of movement until he finds his person. A fond hug waiting for him with open arms. Dinner not far behind it. His current reality is much different.

She has, on several occasions. She's got this funny thing in her head called the Echo which gives her visions of the past (sometimes) or lets her hear the surface thoughts of someone (sometimes) and this has led her to solving cold cases or well-buried secrets, regardless if she actually wanted to or not.

It's what got her her reputation as a mercenary long before she became the Warrior of Light. Half of her reasoning for wanting to enter Aldenard was to escape it. Funny how things work out, huh?

Yes, he has indeed written a love letter! One of my favorite ficlets is about his initial confession to Tataru through one. He knew that she received plenty of love letters from her admirers, and assumed that just joining them in doing that was the best way to make his feelings known. Here's that ficlet!

The two of them were extremely close friends for several years before this, which over time kind of blinded Johnny to the potential for romance. His eyes were eventually forced back open, but he'd never been in love with his best friend before and didn't know how to handle it. He did want to win her hand, but since he knew she was very popular and had a lot of options, he didn't want to make her feel like she was forced to choose him just because of their history, especially if there was a better suitor available.

Tataru in the present day is happy she still has the letter, even if she would have preferred to have been confessed to in a less bizarre way. Johnny has written her several more over the years, some to mark their anniversary but also some others just whenever the mood strikes him.

it releases the happy chemicals for sure!! makes me feel good for creating something, even if its stuff i never end up posting. i like feel productive outside of a work setting, just for me

ok so i think everyone knows the fic i worked hardest on bc i mention it at every opportunity. so i'm gonna talk about something i struggled with instead Evacuate The Dancefloor really didn't come easily to me. i was super happy with the result (and no, please don't ask for a sequel where dasey get together properly, bc it will just be more sad!wanking in this world). and the thing that really got me through writing it was all the noughties club song references. it became a game to tie them all together and that really helped

oh this one's not very fair bc it's The Only Beat That I Have Left but that's backstory for a d&d character and everyone who plays in that campaign has read/kudos'd/commented and they're who it was for so actually!! 100% success rate!!!
