Halo, goodeye! Halo, goodeye!
Deltarune equipables: an analysis/theory.
(Why Winglade is the key to understanding transformation.)
I’ve noticed a pattern with the lightners’ weapons beside the “Kris has pencils and Susie has hair things- and a ladle.”
To start, a lightner’s perception of objects makes them change accordingly in the dark world. Hence why TV world is so much more personal. It’s Kris’s fountain, so Kris’s perception of the darkners changed them in that way.
So if we apply this logic to chapter 4, and what we know about Susie, we can figure out more about how a perception can truly affect a darkner.
From the sanctuary, we learn that the Wicabels are petrified for being too “fun.”
And from this, we can estimate that-
1. The church’s bells were put away because they were “fun”.
2. As such, they don’t belong in the first dark world.
3. The knight knows about the bells being put away.
But then… in the next dark world…
They’re fightable. They’re free. Because Susie doesn’t know about that. She doesn’t know about the bells being put away. And she wouldn’t have any reason to think they don’t belong, heck, if they weren’t put away, she would have messed with them too.
What else appears in both dark worlds… but has different forms.
But… why?
Well, quill pens- the winglade’s lightner form- are kind of complicated to use. Actual quill pens require a specific angle to write with and a certain writing style to not smudge the ink, often also needing a writing table with the same angle to let things come out properly... Something an author would have, but unless you’re more formal with writing, you’d probably not know how to use them.
Additionally, most of the knight candidates are likely to actually know calligraphy. Carol, Rudy, and Asgore are older. It’s a skill they might have learned over time. And Dess? She’s Carol’s daughter. Carol would definitely have made her learn it at some point.
But unequivocally, there’s a character who never would have learned calligraphy. Someone whose handwriting is messier, who never got the chance to learn. Susie.
And in Susie’s dark world, Susie’s perception, the quill pen turns from a weapon to a darkner.
Aligning this with other weapons and darkners and even equipment, we see a pattern.
Weapons are things seen as tools.
Susie can’t use a quill pen. So in her dark world, it’s not a weapon. It’s not usable. It’s a thing, not a tool. The knight can.
Pencils. Erasers. Brushes. Razors. Hell, even the ladle (AbsorbAxe). They’re tools, utensils.
What else can this mean…?
Well, if weapons are tools, I wonder what a REAL weapon could do…

Visited my Color Cafe and this is who is chilling in there at the moment
Out of all the effects granted by the equipment you find within the dark worlds, there are three items than increase monetary gain following victory in battle - the Silver Card, the Dealmaker, and the Winglade Sword. This choice may seem random, however there is a strange throughline between them all upon further inspection.
The Silver card is a crafted item from chapter 2, made from two Amber Cards purchased from either Seam or Rouxls in chapter 1. While the latter of which is the weakest item in the game, it is also the default armor assigned to Kris, Susie and Ralsei upon beginning chapter 2 without a chapter 1 save. It is described as sticky and like a name tag by Ralsei and Noelle respectively, thus the light world form of this particular item is possibly a label sticker - like the kind worn by new students or volunteer workers, both of which interact with many people at once and require a quick and easy way to identify themselves, such as Berdly ie. The only classmate known to work at least two jobs: one being a volunteer position at the librarby, and the other being an unknown shift with Ms Boom.
The Dealmaker is received upon beating Spamton NEO through mercy, and snapping his strings. This item also grants a 40% resistance to the Puppet/Cat element, similar to the 15% and 35% resistance granted by the Frayed Bowtie and Mannequin items respectively. Note that the Frayed Bowtie is considered a separate item from the Big Shot Bowtie sold by Swatch, which lacks this resistance despite granting higher overall defense.
The Winglade, unlike the other two items, takes the form of a Sword found upon climbing a tower east of Gerson’s study, and thus is only equipped by Kris. The light world form of this item is a Quill Pen made from a white feather, possibly the “white pen known as hope” Gerson refers to as he can be seen writing with a white pen and the presence of Guei (as in, the ghostly birds formed from hope candles) found within his study provide a source of white feathers. This only applies to the first Dark Sanctuary visited, as the Second Sanctuary created by Susie contains a different type of Winglade, in the form of Ophanim-like darkners spared through a Spin or Whirl act.
Additionally, you can catch up to the Starwalker Bird and steal its lunch money. Given this interaction occurs right before the room between where the first egg is found, there’s a slight chance that this is how many players accidentally discovered the man behind the tree’s existence.
Conclusion: The real reason that birds piss off TOSW is because he knows they are able to make bank.
Caduceus: "These representations feature the two snakes atop the staff (or rod), crossed to create a circle with the heads of the snakes resembling horns. This old graphic form, with an additional crossbar to the staff, seems to have provided the basis for the graphical sign of Mercury (☿)"
do u think u can manage to find a way to sexualize w1nglade ..

I can certainly try. I think this is the closest I can get without going full phallic and or insertable, I don’t really wanna put the sword into anybody
There’s a lot of potential there though like the handle the eyeball the wings bro there’s so much there, ask me again and I’ll draw them happily but for now this is what you get JSJSJSJSJS
If you backtrack to the East Belltower after having unlocked the 3rd Sanctuary, a new Winglade NPC will appear in this room.
