Had a dream about @aphractal2 ‘s Pomegranate dragon, where it was a world of fruit based dragons.

This is the one I remember most vividly:

It started out with a typical bell pepper and the growth of the seeds within.

(Quite proud of these peppers I wanted to try something new!)

Then it developed into a small tan wingless dragon, where the stem of the pepper is actually several tails wrapped together. So when the smaller dragon crawls out they look kinda onion like.

They take on a darker tan as they developed and towards the end of the juvenile stage, the beginnings of the final yellow color form.

The final form is a bright yellow, and the tail is much shorter as it shrinks with age.

At the end of the life cycle several parents Yellow peppers come together and, not merge but combine to make up the slices/sections of the pepper. The seeds germinated and grew using the nutrients from the former adult dragons and the cycle starts again.

This is really rough but I had to get this idea out, and you definitely check out @aphractal & @aphractal2 their art is really amazing!!

just a funky little post i wanted to make for the sake of it, why not?

friendly reminder to all that wyverns especially count as dragonkin if they wish to call themselves that!!

western dragons are the typical dragons we see and hear about in most stories. four legs, two wings, and they typically have horns. almost always depicted with scales but this is not a hard rule!

eastern dragons typically have longer, more serpentine bodies, and lack wings. they may have a mane down the length of the spine, and antler-like horns. also usually depicted with long whiskers, like asian dragons.

amphipteres lack any sort of limbs but do have wings. they are more considered serpents but fall well under the dragon class all the same. they also have long, serpentine bodies.

lindwyrms are dragons with forelimbs, but no back legs. they also have wings [in most cases]. i’m not sure if there’s a name for the wingless variant.

sea serpents have long, snake-like bodies. in place of wings, they have fins or flippers instead. aquatic-exclusive species.

wingless dragons are like eastern ones in some ways, though their build typically is more like western dragons. that said, they may have vestigial wings.

wyrms lack wings and any sort of limbs. basically fancy snek. they behave mostly in serpentine ways, much like snakes, though their bodies are usually adorned in other ways.

wyverns have wings, and back legs, but no forelimbs. rather, the wings take the place of arms. these wings can be feathery or leathery. i myself am wyvernkin !

I’ve been posting my reptiles on my main blog (Amy-Alexandra), but I figured that it would be better if I had a proper blog that focused explicitly on them, since they’re such a precious and important part of my life. I’ll give a quick briefing on each of them from top to bottom as follows:

OLIVER = My five-year-old female gargoyle gecko who was born with a gimp in her tail (her egg was moved improperly during incubation) that fortunately doesn’t impede her movement. I named Oli after Oliver Wood from the HP series, but once she reached adulthood I noticed that the gimp in her tail made it LOOK like she was male, but after laying some infertile eggs I realized my mistake.  She is the first lizard that I ever fell in love with, and she’s got one of the most amazing reptilian personalities. Her hatch date is September 29th, 2011. 

CINNAMON (Bun) = My four-year-old male gargoyle gecko with the wicked red colours like the spice he was named after. Like Oliver, I actually made a mistake with the gender and realized that my “Lady” Cinnamon was actually a CinnaMAN (pardon the pun). He’s the pairing to Oliver, although I haven’t let the two breed yet because of Oliver’s constant calcium crashes. His hatch date is October 19th, 2012.

ROSA = My red-eyed crocodile skink who I don’t actually know the hatch date of yet (I adopted her on March 25th, 2017 and she was seven months old at the time; I’m assuming her hatch date is around August 25th, 2016). Unlike most crocodile skinks, she’s actually very active and curious and isn’t too shy. She loves cuddling, and even more so, she loves to eat. 

LUCY = My newest bab I adopted last month! Lucy is a 9 month old chahoua gecko that’s really starting to show her amazing colours as she gets bigger. She weighs a whopping 12 grams at the moment, but when the time comes she’ll actually the biggest reptile that I own. I also am only 80% sure that Lucy is female, so we’ll see what the future holds for this little gecko.
