What a bold-faced lie. Dark’s red gaze burned into Tabris, his teeth grinding together. He smashed his fist against his desk, ignoring the ache as the heated adrenaline set in. “Yes it fucking can!”

It was a roar, anger and desperation mixing to fill in the cracks of his words. He was a leader. He couldn’t just accept that some problems were unable to be mended.

His face was soon graced with a soft smile. “It must be wonderful to think that way.” He realized how it had sounded and sighed. Perhaps he had not given it as much thought as he should have. “There is so much beauty within the world. I wish I could see it. Maybe then I could be in love with it as well.”

Henrik let out a soft chuckle at that, before nodding in agreement. “I can understand how you feel. Most z’hink z’he same regarding z’he doctor’s office. But I can assure you z’hat it i’z a good place.” He had to consider it, his lips upturning into a gentle smile. “Perhaps I am biased in z’hat regard.”
