Eleodie Maracavanya | Identity: nonbinary (she/he/zhe) | Media: Aftermath Trilogy

Introduced in 2015, Eleodie Maracvanya was the first nonbinary character in Star Wars. Zhe appeared in the interludes of the Aftermath Trilogy, which developed how the wider galaxy was dealing with the death of the Emperor. She was once enslaved by the Empire, but he eventually rose to lead a pirate gang. They captured an Imperial Super Star Destroyer, which she renamed Liberty’s Misrule. When she boarded ships, zhe offered the crew and passengers the chance to live free as a pirate and anyone else was free to leave in escape pods. In the time right before and after the Battle of Jakku, his pirate nation grew as more ships joined the flotilla. They became the Sovereign Latitudes of Maracavanya (likely also the Pirate Nation mentioned in The Mandalorian s3e5).

Zhe was very dramatic and flashy, as properly befitted a pirate. Underpinning the Sovereign Latitudes were the principles of freedom and the shared self-interest of pirates. Zhe also ensured loot was shared fairly amongst the entire crew. Shred, zhe made sure to destroy an Imperial fleet fleeing the Battle of Jakku to help get on the New Republic’s good side.

Wini Eres | Identity: wlw | Media: Jedi Survivor

Wini Eres was an interior designer from Coruscant who traveled to Koboh to gain new inspiration, where their datapad was stolen. There she met Zygg Soza, and after Cal Kestis confirmed her datapad was destroyed she moved into Rambler’s Reach Outpost.

There she worked with Zygg to help fix up Pylon’s Saloon and fell in love with the other woman. Softspoken and formal, she found life on Koboh more authentic than upper class Coruscant. After Wini moves to the Outpost, the player character can follow her developing relationship with Zygg through a series of optional conversations.
