Audrey’s hand fit so perfectly in his own, still. Everything about her just fit so well with him, it still amazed him every day even after being with her for years now. Ryder held her one hand while his other laid on the small of her back.
The day was a whirlwind for him, and he had only been interrupted a few times to handle things, he couldn’t imagine how many times Audrey had gotten told of some minor detail that was spun as some sort of crisis. Still they had made it through the day, they were officially married and that was all that mattered. As Ryder looked down at her, the song they had chosen as ‘their’ song playing, any fear or doubt he had about today melted away. She was his wife, and he was her husband now, nothing was ever going to tear them apart. He didn’t even notice that he had stopped listening to her talking until she raised her eyebrows at him and squeezed his hand, “Ryder.” She said, bringing his attention back. “Hmm?” He hummed. “You look like you’re off in your own world or something.” She said, licking her lips as she spoke. “I’m just thinking about you, thinking about us, thinking about our future.” He said as he guided her hand to rest on his shoulder so that both of his arms could wrap around her waist. “I like that. Our future.” Her voice lowering to a whisper as his head leaned down to rest against her’s. “Me too. You and me. Forevermore.” He said, closing his eyes as her hand found its way to the nape of his neck, fingers reaching up to rake through his hair. “I love you.” She replied. A smile tugged at his lips, “I love you too.”
