The New Yorker review of The Pursuit of Love only singles out one actor beyond the standard name after first character mention.Guess who? And that’s a rhetorical question because of course it’s him.

“Andrew Scott, who played the “hot priest” in Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s “Fleabag,” is deliciously entertaining as Lord Merlin ... Scott is a joy to watch; he is consistently, convincingly vivacious—the embodiment of Mitford charm.”

Also singling out just one actor? The New York Times.

“Andrew Scott, who plays the Radletts’ bohemian neighbor, Lord Merlin, overcomes Mortimer’s directorial choices — like staging his first appearance as an absurd art-deco harlequinade — and gives an affecting performance as Linda’s highly critical but devoted mentor. I don’t win many things (though to be honest I rarely enter competitions) but I did enter a competition and I won. Sure, it’s just Stickydate pudding with vanilla bean ice cream and butterscotch sauce and it’s only from my favourite chocolate shop (Chocolait in Melbourne, check it out if your ever here) but I am very excited for it. Guess it’s a good thing I had already planned to go there for a hot chocolate tomorrow so perfect timing. :)
