So, one thing I do with alot of my horses is imagine personalities and backstories for them. I love making characters, so I basically make each of my horses a character. I've got a chill 'just go with the flow' quarter horse, a shy and timid North Swedish, an competitive and showoffish Halflinger, etc. For the most part I let my brain run wild with their personalities, and often base them off a distinguishing feature. So, I got the chestnut Fresian cause i have no self control. And while I like the horse, I really didnt like the mane. It just seemed way too stiff for my liking, and the tail looked weird. But I also didnt like the braids. So I decided to go see if any other styles would work. And turns out, I really liked, what I like to call, the long starter horse mane. The one that's kinda the longest of the basic manes. And then my brain said "This horse is trans." And I said "But why?" And my brain said "Beacuse."..... so anyway now I have a female-to-male transgender horse named CrimsonCry who is a complete and utter dork.
Concider how money fresian hair sell for, I can belive your character having quite the pocket money now. XD
Good for CrimsonCry! Tell him Im proud and support him!
I like to make characters but for some reason I cant make characters of my horses in the game.
I have few horses I have decided personality for, but not really any background too. Their personalities are usually from the animations so they arent very thoughtfull.
Skyrunner, my starter. I have alwaysed seen as mix of a bastard and a serious dude. He is not as wild as Tin-can, but can be bit of an ass. If there is a person he doesnt like he would ‘accidenlty’ chew on the person hair or shirt because “derpyderpyderp Im just a stupid horse, I thought your hair was hay because Im just a normal horse derpyderp”. Or he would fill his mouth with water to spit at someone or into their shoes.
Grandmountain, my old gen north swedish horse, looks so uncempt so I decided he was previous owned by a horrible person that misstreated him and took awhile for him to ease up to Moa. And even when he trust her, he wouldnt let other humans or horses near him. So he has to be kept in a seperate pasture from Moas other horses.
Winterborn, old fjord, keept hitting obstacles when I run past or jumped over them. I dont know if old fjords hitboxes where bigger but it was hell to train him because if it.
So I decided he most be a scardy cat and hate jumping over objects and would often turn away from things that scared him, making him hard to ride.
Other horses with kinda personalities are Silversong, a happy clydesdale. Ravenqueen, a tough icelandic horse (think toph from atla) and DarkKnight, halloween whinfell, being an aggresive but loyal horse. Pretty much a stallion version of Gallopers mare.
