Somehow they had contorted themselves into the shape of the desk’s underside, like two clothes hangers that had been shoved around and gotten tangled with each other. Clint’s knees were pressed to his chest, and Bucky’s arm that held Clint’s mouth closed wrapped around his thigh to keep him from moving or making noise. Despite their pretzel-like state, Bucky looked ready to bust out from their hiding place and strike if he needed to.

Author sign ups for Winterhawk Big Bang 2026!

We're back for another year!

The WHBB is a fun, relatively low-effort event, with just 7.5k words minimum for stories and flexible minimums on art and other collaborations.

Before you sign up, check the rules and this year's schedule! After that, all you have to do is fill out our Sign-Up Form. Sign-ups close on 11 March. A Confirmation email of your sign-up should be automatically sent to you within 48 hours - if you do not receive one please reach out to the mods via email ([email protected]), Tumblr Message or on our Discord server and we will try to figure out what went wrong.

If you're an artist interested in the event, follow this blog for more info. Fic summaries will be posted a few days before claiming begins on 22 May.

Please note "Artist" is used as a broad term here and can include things like Moodboards, Playlists, and even Podfic!

If you have any more questions, just want to cheer the authors and artists on, or are still considering joining this year, we welcome you to the Discord server to chat and cheer!

Okay so I have a new Winterhawk lesbians fic for y'all and I am SO EXCITED. Posted with @winterhawkbigbang Here goes nothin:

Jamie can’t face reinvention. She is who she has always been; she is the same clueless girl stepping foot in a clandestine speakeasy, being approached by a butch for the first time in her life; she is the girl grinning and filling her dance card one slot at a time; she is the girl hanging off Captain America’s arm for his stage tour; she is the weary woman on Therapist Donna’s couch grieving a lifetime come to pass without Jamie herself being awake for any of it.

This is her freedom, until she meets Cat Barton. Then, staring down the first woman to awaken the same feeling of that smoky speakeasy since the Winter Soldier, Jamie is still that girl who lives by Old Fashioned, Old School rules: the butch makes the first move. For the first time, her redemption becomes a prison of her own design, because unfortunately, Cat Barton is the same person she has always been: the woman who ran away from everything that scared her; the girl who was abandoned by her brother; the girl who spent her childhood being stepped on by women who dressed just like Jamie.

Jamie can’t face reinvention. But she can’t face loneliness, either.
