Gemini Hours recap & photos!
I had an amazing time celebrating my birthday last month. I threw a party for all my fellow Geminis called "Gemini Hours", and I performed a few songs with my friend and fellow artist, Sara Van Buskirk. One of the things I loved most about this event, is that it brought together so many people I love. A huge thank-you to fellow Gemini and event curator, The Outspoken Bean, for letting me take over his space at Winter Street Studios—right before the public premiere of his Fresh Arts residency and incredible art installation, "Clothespins & Storylines." This event was the official launch party, for my solo album Kickstarter campaign. The campaign has 13 days left to go. If you'd like to donate to it you can click here.
If you'd like to come to the wrap party I'm throwing at Dan Electro's to celebrate it's completion, it's going down on Sunday, July 20th.
The event is called Kam Franklin & Friends, and will feature appearances, surprises, and collaborations with a bunch of Houston artists I admire and respect including:
- Sergio Trevino of BUXTON and Ancient Cat Society
- Louis Morales - lead vocalist for dem roots music
- Sara Van Buskirk
- Uncle Tino
- Ed “Blacknintendo” Prevost of The Suffers
Instead of just opener, my band will be learning a few songs from each artist to highlight the incredible versatility of the Houston music scene. Following this set, I’ll be performing a set with my full band to celebrate the completion of my Kickstarter canpaign.
