It pisses me off how notmalized it is to treat disabled people like they're lesser. Just went through some comments on a video of a girl talking about her service dog and how often she gets into arguments with shop owners not understanding it's a seevice dog. So many comments saying "Maybe you shouldn't be so so confrontational", or "Maybe these dogs should require ID" or "Actually the problem are the people who pretend to have seevice dogs/disabilities"
So much to unpack there. Patricia Taxxon used to have some amazong posts about this sorta topic. Not only are not as many prople "pretending" about that shit as you may so confidently think, but even if they were, why punish actual disabled people for that shit?
And not to mention the "be nice" thing. It's like if you're disabled that's fine but the moment you are even slightly conforontational it's your fault. I even read a post perfectly describing it. "Normal" people are allowed to make bad decisions but the moment a disabled person does it "we can't trust you anymore"
