Tumblr goes after Tumbr.com domain name
Tumblr has filed a complaint to get the domain name Tumbr.com. The UDRP complaint was filed with the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center.
According to whois records, the domain name was most recently registered in 2007. The owner is 段翔宇.
Tumblr should expect the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center order the domain name to be transferred from the respondent to the complainant, considering the company owns the “Tumblr” mark.
The WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center will examine if the respondent registered and used the disputed domain name in bad faith, if he has rights over it and if the domain name is confusingly similar to the trademarked name.
Tumbr.com will be transferred to Tumblr if it falls under all of the three stipulations.
The case is still pending compliance check with the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center.
