WIRE IN THE BLOOD X FEM OC
MOLLY AND ALEX HAVE BEEN ARGUING ALL WEEK AND TONY IS TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHY SO HE DECIDES TO FORCE IT OUT.
Molly scoffed at Alex as she walked besides the woman leaving a crime scene“and I thought I was naive.” Molly muttered making Alex stop and grab the black haired lady and slam her against the wall earning a gasp from Paula and Kevin “your pushing your luck Molly. I’ve been patient and nice-“ Molly laughed out at this her eyes sharp “Patient? Nice!? Don’t lie-Agh-“ She was cut off as Alex pushed her even more against the wall Kevin stepped forward “come on Ma’am-“ He spoke but was pushed off by Alex “Your such a fucking brat you know that! Your worse than my son!” Alex hissed as Molly growled back her nails snagging around Alex’s wrists “I’m a brat?- I’m not five!-“ Before any of them could get out a word someone butted in “Alex? Molly?” The two women turned to spot Tony who stared at them “better drop me like a good dog you are your daddy’s here.” Molly teased as Alex shoved her again before dropping the woman and turning around walking off Kevin and Paula following Molly scoffed as she rubbed her shoulder watching Alex leave “Molly.” Tony addressed making her glance at him “what did you do?” Mollys eyes sharpened at him in frustration “take your girlfriend’s side why don’t you!” She snapped as she turned storming off “molly!-“ Tony sighed as Molly disappeared from his sight “she’s not my girlfriend..” he mumbled to himself before heading off himself to figure out what was happening.
Tony stood in his apartment arms crossed as he stared at Molly and Alex who both sat on a sofa away from each-other “are any of you two going to tell me why your fighting for?” Tony asked his eyes shifting between the women “she started it..” molly muttered like a child as Alex glared at her “piss of Molly you started it!-“ before the two could argue even more Tony stepped in “ALRIGHT WHY ARE YOU TWO SO ANGRY!?” He yelled at them causing them to jolt and look at him both growing silent Molly looked away as Alex sighed “because Alex refuses to admit her feelings for you.” Molly hissed annoyed her fingers tapping on her arms “me!? It’s you! You won’t tell me who you like! And then blame me for being all hostile about tony!-“ Mollys head snapped towards Alex in anger “Your seriously pissing me off Alex!-“ She was cut off as Alex lurched forward grabbing Molly as they both screamed at eachother firing insults until eventually Tony stepped in “LADIES!” Alex looked over followed by Molly who now lay on the ground her back on the floor her hands grasping Alex’s shoulders as Alex towered over Molly in between the woman’s thighs pinning her down “I understand your frustration- but stop this fighting it’s ridiculous!! You fight like middle school girls! Now pack it in!!” He yelled as he waved his hands around causing Alex to glance down at Molly who looked at her before Alex moved from the woman and Molly stood up brushing off her trousers “so to solve this- Molly you tell us who you like and Alex I’ll come to you in a second.” Tony nodded as he crossed his arms looking at Molly who scoffed “no way!” She replied Tony sighed pinching the bridge of his nose “Don’t be difficult just tell us!” He begged almost as Molly growled before mumbling something incoherent Tony leaned forward to hear “what?” She let out a frustrated sigh “Alex.” Tony paused and so did Alex as Molly looked away “so that’s why you’ve been so hostile towards me… why your teasing Alex.. Why yours so desperate to try and prove yourself.” Tony mumbled as he began pacing Molly watched as Alex glanced at the woman “And that’s why you’ve been creating a wedge between me and Alex.. keeping us apart..” Tony stopped as he faced Molly “your jealous..” Molly looked away embarrassed her cheeks flushed as she huffed Alex was silent for a few minutes Tony turned to face Alex “and your conflicted between me and Molly.. that’s why your frustrated yet so hands on with Molly.. and so snappy towards me.” Tony continues as Molly slowly looked over surprised “you don’t know who to choose..” he stopped as he looked over “And you Tony.” Alex also piped up as Molly nodded “what about me?” He asked crossing his arms “your basically obsessed with Alex that’s why your always around her.” Molly explained as she scoffed “and with Molly you’re more protective rather than obsessive. Keeping her close yet still far enough to push her away if needed.” Alex spoke as she smirked slightly “as a friend-“ Molly argued as she turned to Alex who scoffed “No do not pull the friend card on me you little brat! When you slept over at mine the once in the storm! You fell asleep on the sofa and I heard you say his name in your sleep and not as in a nightmare way no a wet dream kind of way!” Alex hissed as Mollys mouth dropped open in shock “that’s why you couldn’t look at Tony for two days straight! Because you had a dream about him! And it explained the flustered expression every-time he even grew close to you!” Molly stared in shock at Alex who glared at her “tell me I’m wrong. Or better yet prove me wrong!” Alex teased as Mollys eyes sharpened “okay Molly calm down!” Tony quickly interrupted the two his hand grasping Mollys wrist that went to reach out for Alex who just watched with Amusement as Molly scoffed looking away mumbling something under her breath “don’t call her that Molly.” Tony scolded as he sighed dropping her wrist as she rolled her eyes before she could retort Alex had stepped forward her hand grabbing Mollys face roughly and smashing her lips onto the woman’s who stood shocked as did Tony
Jodie @relish_books recommended this author and book - The Mermaids Singing by Val McDermid. “Several murder victims are found in the same area. They have all been tortured. Psychologist Tony Hill is brought in to work with the police. Soon he becomes a target and will have to use all of his wit to survive.” Thank you Jodie for introducing me to this author. This is some great crime fiction. The killer is a scary one and demented. Tony has issues and a surprising link to the killer. A wild conclusion to this one. Fans of Slaughter and Kepler should enjoy McDermid. Now excuse me while I read the rest of this series. #themermaidssinging #valmcdermid #britishcrimefiction #wireintheblood #bookstagram #bookshelves #booknerd #bookhoarder #bookworm #sodacityreads #bookish #bookreview #hardcover #bookcover #bookhaul #literarycrimefiction #goodreads #homelibrary #fiction #domesticthriller #crimefiction #thriller #greatbookcovers https://www.instagram.com/p/CVVqN8kLZLO/?utm_medium=tumblr

Finished Jack in Wire in the blood now
Jack O’connell in wire in the blood
Sorry, no #crossstitch progress tonight. I had a British crime marathon (that's Robson Green doing his best 'inquisitive psychologist at a gruesome crime scene' in Wire in the Blood) to watch and a daylight lamp isn't conducive to the whole serial killer atmosphere - over 4 episodes there were about 20 victims of all ages and genders. Back at it tomorrow. #wireintheblood #britishcrimedrama #murdermystery #robsongreen #drtonyhill (at Ivanhoe, Victoria, Australia) https://www.instagram.com/p/B9CLV1SHGQC9ZLRSYkErXQJiRIFwsbJxUQ7qOY0/?igshid=1jlpi6bqt7xjh

Weirder than Monk, more likable than Sherlock, occasionally as caustic as House, just as brilliant as all three.
I love murder mysteries and cop shows as a genre, and I find criminal profilers fascinating. What I love even more are the "defective detectives" like Monk that are so often seen in books and TV. My new favorite of the defective detectives is Tony Hill.
Now that I've been mainlining Wire In The Blood (ok, ok, I promise I'll shut up about it soon - well maybe not, I just get really excited when I find a new show I love), I've realized that Tony Hill would probably have Sherlock analyzed and figured out in about three seconds flat - he's that good. The scenes where he thinks like the killer and figures out why they are the way they are are incredibly well-written. But what I really love about the character is that he has empathy. Empathy for the victims, their families, even the killers themselves - so much empathy, in fact, that there ends up being something more than a little "off" about him. That's where I love to compare him with Sherlock - both probably have some form of Asberger's, both are brilliant, and both are fascinated with the why and the how of crime. But while Sherlock likes to "observe" from afar, as if he's above and apart from everyone else, Tony dives right into a criminal's or a victim's mind and feels exactly what they feel. And I have to say that's really fun to watch. His odd little personality quirks are really endearing. (I'd never even heard of Robson Green before I watched this, and I'm definitely a fan of his now.)
Anyway, this show is absolutely worth watching, if for nothing else than the relationship between Tony and police inspector Carol Jordan. It has shades of Mulder and Scully written all over it, and much like them, Tony and Carol fall into an easy friendship of mutual respect. It's sort of a refreshing change from a lot of TV partnerships full of professional posturing and doubting the other person's ability. It's a really sweet relationship, and it gives some warmth to some otherwise seriously dark subject matter. (However I'd skip most of the first episode, "The Mermaids Singing". It's worth it for character introductions, but the killer ends up being so campy as to be laughable, and I'm pretty sure that was unintentional.) So, fellow Sherlockians, give it a shot. As Irene Adler says,
"I like detective stories....and detectives."
