Ok, so Celeste is one of my favorite games of all time now, and I've got that itch for it again. Any recs for a platformer with simple mechanics and tight controls like Celeste?
Sure – you could have a look at any of the following:
Even the Ocean - This one’s gameplay is a bit of an oddball for a precision platformer, being fairly reactive – as evidenced by the fact that you have a “raise shield” button rather than a dash or a wall grab. Extra mobility comes from absorbing colour-coded energies that increase either your speed or your jump height – though too much of either will make you blow up! Definitely one to check out if you’re big on story, as it’s 50% visual novel by volume; just, uh, don’t expect a happy ending.
The King’s Bird - This one’s considerably more momentum-based than Celeste, so the controls are a bit squishier, but not nearly to the same “overshooting your target by a mile because you tilted the joystick one millimeter too far” degree as most momentum-based platformers. The core mechanic here is that you have a “fly” button rather than a “dash” button, and you can recharge your flight by touching any surface, not just floors – even banking yourself off the ceiling works!
Overclocked - On the surface this one is very similar to Celeste, being another jump-and-dash precision platformer, but in practice there’s a much stronger puzzle element; while execution is still a challenge, many levels are basically puzzle boxes where the key is figuring out what exact order to hit the targets in. You can hang in the air indefinitely by charging up your dash, giving you plenty of time to plan. I’d ordinarily consider the lack of an assist mode a major problem, but it’s free to play, so… eh.

Are there any more #miraculupdates for us regarding the bank half of the season? It seemed like it was about to go up for a bit there, so what happened to it? I don't mean for this to sound accusatory at all, I recognize that things happen, and y'all aren't exactly getting paid for this, I'm just a French subs fan who would like some reassurance that it's still happening. It’s a reasonable ask, don’t worry about it. Unfortunately, the episodes take a lot longer to make. Making that 2 minutes video took like 3-4 hours yesterday. :/
So yes, they are definitely happening, but when I only have little free time, I’d rather do something that can be done in 20-30 minutes.
As for the others, most of them have exams already so translation/editing for those that are not pending on me will probably have to wait a bit.
If I discard a card with madness to cast a spell with Jump-start from my graveyard, which spell resolves first?
When you cast a spell with jump-start from your graveyard, it’s already on the stack by the time you’re paying its costs, including discarding a card. This means that if you discard a card with madness to pay that additional cost both the madness trigger and the spell itself, if cast for its madnes cost, will go on the stack above the spell with jump-start and resolve first.
