Some kids were there at the battle, like Root and Monty, used as little war machines for the Dark enchantress, having their only family die in front of their eyes. Monty luckily enough was taken in by Golden Cheese after the swarm disavowed him. No more Spice protecting him and all. Root was caught in a custody battle and heavily traumatized, the cookies of darkness wanted to take her into their care, and the faeries wanted her instead. Wisteria had already been stolen away by Salt years ago, seeing Root as nothing but the Dark Enchantress' spawn and nothing more... Some kids were acquired after the fact like Sugarplum and Coco Powder. Coco Powder was sought out by Cacao, he didn't want to leave both her and Haetae alone so took them both to the citadel.
