Witchy women
part 2
Lucy was sitting against the wall under the window with a black panther head in her lap. She scratched at the chin and jaw exposed to her. “Mags, your bonsai are anchoring the four corners of a shield keeping ill intent from entering our home.”
“Individually, I understand those words. But all together like that, not so much.” She motioned to her cat. “Not that Bagheera being a real leopard isn’t awesome, but this means I can’t have a nap with a purring cat on my belly.”
Your hair is so soft.. + witch!au?
In the dark, although they have yet to understand it, there’s a certain intimacy and sweetness. They can’t see each other, but they know each other’s bodies by feel and have no struggle, only the tenderness inherent to seeing with their hands and knowing where to feel and how to touch to make this perfect.
“Your hair is so soft,” Olivia sighs, letting the silky strands run through her fingers. It’s not the right thing to focus on, she supposes, with the lips skimming her inner thighs at this exact moment, but she thinks about it. Every part of Alex is worth thinking about. “Do you have a spell for that?”
“‘M just that great,” Alex murmurs before digging in her teeth, just hard enough to give the illusion of beginning to hurt.
The only answer Olivia gives is a breathy laugh on the fence of being a a moan. She releases her wife’s hair to feel downward until she reaches a shoulder, which she then follows until she finds a hand to lace their fingers together. Holding on. Knowing that she isn’t alone, that she’s still lovable in spite of everything. Or perhaps, because of it. Whichever answer, she is safe and in love, and will not soon be abandoned.
Until the opportunity is presented to her, Olivia doesn’t think she would ever want or be able to leave her job. Too many people need help, and being an SVU detective gives her purpose- not to mention helps her overcome her own issues with what brought her into the world. She never really thought about what else she might do with her life, because when she eventually retires, she surely wouldn’t be able to just lounge around in her dusty apartment all day while her bones go creaky.
Just having the choice, though.
When Alex makes the offer, Olivia says yes, and the next thing she knows, she’s filing their resignation paperwork while Alex hums to herself and uses her magic to help pack the things they’re keeping into brown cardboard boxes. They can’t take everything, lest their enemies come after them in their new home. Worst of all, they can’t take the vanity with them. It’s got a bad energy to it, Alex had explained. Even though Olivia can’t sense it and has been dreadfully attached to it since buying it from a Goodwill, there’s something sinister about it as far as the majority of the coven is concerned, so it won’t be coming with them.
“Casey had a room made up for your outbursts,” Alex says a bit too casually, pretending it isn’t a big deal. “It’ll be a ways from the common room and the bedrooms, closer to the burrows. Just in case.”
Because they’re all still treating Olivia with kid gloves, a bit. She’s new, and she isn’t used to her powers, and sometimes she loses control. Alex calls them outbursts. Casey’s ex girlfriend had called them grounds for execution. It doesn’t bother her, really. She understands, to a point, why they’re afraid, and why they’d want to protect themselves. Although once, Carmen had said to her that it’s about protecting Olivia from herself as well. She still hasn’t figured out entirely what that means.
“What if they find us?” Find me, Olivia tacks onto the end of her sentence mentally. She’s the one being hunted. “I don’t wanna endanger the coven.”
“That’s what a coven is for. To protect our sisters, to take care of each other. It was their idea for us to come, so we can be safer. If, somehow, they find us, we’re safe there. No one else can get in, remember? The violets?”
Yes, the briars of beautiful flowers which quickly turn on unexpected visitors like Olivia, when she dragged a bleeding Alex to help in the middle of the night. Somehow, Olivia has more faith in them than in real people, perhaps as a result of her newly discovered earthly connections. A couple weeks ago, Carmen had even sat with her and taught her how to care for the violets.
In spite of her fears, Olivia is excited for a fresh start among those who will understand and help her.
“Don’t get up. I’m comfortable like this.” + witch!au (p.s how is roomba?)
Roomba is doing well and Alex wants to buy another roomba not bc she needs one, but bc “My baby needs a wife!” //
Alex has only gotten to kiss Olivia twice when the power flickers out around them again. Sometimes it’s cute and like something out of a romcom, but it’s usually just annoying. Alex likes to see her girlfriend when she’s fucking her senseless, thank you very much. She sighs and pushes herself up on her elbows, ready to go flip the breaker (again) when Olivia whines and kisses her temple in the darkness.
“Wait, don’t get up, ‘s comfy like this.”
“I have to go fix the power.”
“It can wait, right?”
She feels Olivia’s lips skim down her cheek and jaw until she’s leaving slow, gentle open mouthed kisses on Alex’s neck the way she knows drives her crazy. Unfair, for the record. But it feels good, and so does the way Olivia grinds against her hard and slow.
“This is cheating.”
“Mmm, you like it though.”
“Maybe.”
What happened to her? Witch Alex au
“The old me is dead,” Alex announces, flicking one hand in the air carelessly to lace up her combat boots while the other brushes the tangles from her hair so she can pull it into a sleek ponytail.
Olivia snorts. “Yeah? What happened to her?”
“She got sick of spending her days in the courtroom with the scum of the earth.” Making a face at herself in the mirror, Alex, decides to go for a bun instead. She doesn’t like her hair getting in her face when she’s doing work at the coven. “And also just decided she’s done with men in general. So she’s gonna take on the coven full time, work on the gardens.”
“And is she going to bring her girlfriend?”
She has two different ways she could answer. One is the easy one, the obvious yes, the sweet peck to Olivia’s lips that taste like her favorite chap stick. The other frightens and exhilarates her at the exact same time. It would hopefully lead to the kind of bliss and love she’s craved her entire life.
“Hopefully, I’ll bring my wife.”
Alex reaches into her makeup bag and produces the small velvet box she’s had for weeks but hasn’t found the right time to bring up. She’s scared, not that she’ll ever admit it. But this is what she wants more than anything. Slowly, she turns around, and gets down on one knee as Olivia sits up in bed, covering her mouth.
“I didn’t really mean to do it like this, but I uh, I haven’t been able to figure out how. I just really love you, and every day, it seems that I love you even more. It’s stupid, like the straight movies we make fun of together, but I do. And I really, really wanna marry you.”
Before Olivia can respond, the power goes off.
And suddenly Alex is smiling and laughing, and Olivia is clinging to her, and they’re fumbling with the ring in the dark.
Witch!AU does Alex have any enemies? Someone who knows about her and Liv? 🍑
Alex has,,,, a lot of enemies. Enemies from her work, enemies for her craft, enemies for her gender, the list goes on and on. In all of those categories, there are people out to hurt her and Olivia.
Those from work are the easiest to deal with because she can go through normal law enforcement agencies and use spells to preemptively protect herself. Plus, these perps are generally very predictable. She makes a living getting inside their heads and knowing how they function. As a whole, she’s the least scared of them.
Next up on the list of danger would be transphobes, because although Alex has literally used magic to transition and eliminate anything that might cause her dysphoria or cause difficulty in her ability to pass, she isn’t quiet about being trans. It’s a part of herself, and she feels it important to continue to fight for and help those like her, particularly youth. And she’s involved in pride events when she has the time. Transphobes have a tendency to harass her because of it, and they’re nasty to Olivia too for not being a “real lesbian.” It’s a problem in the wiccan community too, sometimes, since only women can be witches, and there are those who believe Alex isn’t “woman enough” to be a witch. Alex isn’t afraid of them, but they pose a serious problem to her and Liv’s emotional wellbeing, and occasionally to their physical safety. Alex’s coven, however, is very accepting of her and actively help protect her and those she helps.
And of course, there are enemies specifically because of her being a witch. Witch hunters still exist, as do monster hunters who would come after Alex or Olivia. They’re the most dangerous because their sole motivation is tracking the two of them down and giving them a painful death. Alex regularly refreshes her protective spells and sigils specifically because of them.
It’s the enemies she deals with for her magic that she has specific people after her. She knows who’s hunting her, who’s collecting proof, who has an eye on her coven. There have been,,,, some instances in which Olivia was in real danger because she was used as bait for Alex, and those were scarring experiences for both of them.
