Hey, there! I hope you're having a good day so far. I saw a page you posted the other day with alchemy symbols on it. I'm looking to read more about alchemy, specifically it's tie to witchcraft, and I thought I would ask you if you know of any good places to start. Thanks so much for all the resources you share! 💜

The way alchemy ties into my witchcraft is that I use the planetary symbols and the cosmos in my magic. Also I use the alchemical planetary hours in spells and talismans.

When I’m making potions or flying ointments I’ll sometimes consult the book the herbal alchemist handbook by keren Harrison. There’s a lot of books on the subject of herbal alchemy that can be useful in incorporating it into your witchcraft.

I also enjoy learning about and using magical symbols in my practice like with sigil making. And the alchemical subjects are often allegory and represent something else. For example the philosophers stone is enlightenment.

New years prayer

So I worte a new years prayer dedicated my Gods, Fjorgyn, Lofn and Vidar. Thought I would share it with you all 💙

May Fjorgyn bless me

with Healt, in body and soul,

with Strenght, to grow and bloom,

with Frienship, from unexpected places,

Magical pinecone ink The recipe is simple: 1 cup (45 g) pine "scales" 2 cups (475 ml) distilled water 2 teaspoons (8 g) soda ash (or washing soda store-bought) bring the content to a boil then very slow simmer for 2 hours. I ended up with 1/4 cup of dark liquid. The content was strained and voila! In the bottle I added 6 drops of cloves essential oil which helps for storage and potential mold. You could also use wintergreen essential oil. If you don't need to store the ink for a long time, you could skip that step. The ink is placed in the fridge. Magically pinecones are associated with the planets Saturn and Mars Pine is a funerary tree that represents everlasting life and immediately as an evergreen tree. Pine trees were often planted over graves to strengthen the souls of the deceased and help preservation. I found the pine cone I used to make my ink at the oldest cemetery in my area. Pines magical aspects are: necromancy, healing, protection, fertility, prosperity, cleansing, immortality. Spiritual protection from negative energies.
