Turning an early witchcraft SMP headcannon into an AU

About 2 or so years after Scott and Britt decided to stay in misthaven, or what it once was the two had settled into a new flow of life, along with everyone else in the town. A part of that life, for Scott at least was gaining a boyfriend from a village not so far away.

After some time in the village Scott and his boyfriend, Milo, decided to move to Milo’s hometown, settling in a small house just outside of the village. They adopted a dog named Maxwell and lived happily for two years.

One day, on their anniversary Milo, Scott and their dog went out for a picnic at a lake nearby. It was a special picnic as Milo proposed to Scott, or he started to, until they heard splashing in the lake.

Maxwell was stuck on something and drowning. Scott froze but, Milo was quick to leap into action to save the dog. After a few minutes Scott was able to attempt to help. Maxwell was out but Milo wasn’t.

But.. Scott was too late…

Milo had drowned…

After that day Scott tried to go back to Misthaven. Only to find that Britt, the only one he thought could help him, his closest friend, had also moved on from the city. She had always wanted to explore more worlds but, Scott was content staying put so she stayed for him. There was no way to tell where she was so Scott continued on his way. Past the town he’d build with friends who all were living happy lives now…

A year after Milo passed Scott was ready to give in. He had nothing left. Or so he thought, until he found an old book. One made for witches. Witches who wanted to raise the dead.

That was it! He could bring back Milo, he could reclaim what he’d lost.

That day he was determined. Determined to become something he’d hated for so many years.

He would become a witch

Just saw Scott's finale and WOOO

I think the happy ending worked better than the angst we all expected, I don't think any of us were actually prepared for that ending. (Besides, that's what fanfic is for)

And we found out how Milo died! Trying to save their dog! My god, that is adorable and morbid! I love it! And speaking of adorable: Milo called Scott moonlight! I'm squealing, that is tooth-achingly sweet and cute and fluffy and AHHHH

Yup, so I'm gonna go lie down and be extremely normal about a goddamn minecraft smp.

Head canons about Scott and Milo to fuel your sadness

•Their dog, Maxwell, is a labrador retriever and a rescue they found at their local shelter! Maxwell had been with them for a few years, has destroyed many of Scott's shoes and Milo's scarves. They wouldn't change him for the world.

•Scott and Milo meeting is a story taken straight from a Coffee Shop AU. No I will not elaborate, you know it's true.

•Milo loves to bake, and he's not half bad at it. He'll find recipes in the library or off the internet and just make and alter them for weeks on end until he gets it right.

• Scott loves horror movies, but Milo gets scared easily so Scott has to bribe him with snacks, cuddles and promises of watching rom-coms right after.

• Scott can knit and would often do it when he was nervous. The first thing he ever made for Milo was a scarf, and despite Scott's insistence over it not being that good, Milo never leaves the house without it.

•Even before Milo's death, Scott would overwork himself, missing out on food and sleep in the pursuit of getting work done. Milo has occasionally had to hide Scott's computer to get him to take a break, and even that wouldn't work sometimes.

•The two of them had been together for two years by the time of Milo's death. Milo had been planning to propose.
