The Premise:
In present day, Geralt has suddenly disappeared from the timeline. Yennefer and Ciri (now a Witcher) devise a portal spell to send her back in time to the events of Witcher 3 to ensure that her younger self saves the world as it happened, since Geralt isn't there to do it.
Yen also crafted a glamor to ensure that everyone in the past sees Ciri as Geralt in order to preserve the stability of the timeline. Something about butterflies, she says.
The trip back was mostly successful and Ciri is able to learn that Geralt disappeared the very moment he and Vesemir had set out for White Orchard.
Unfortunately, her memory became a blurry haze once going through the portal. She can't recall exactly where or what her younger self is doing. She just knows her mission objective: find young Cirilla and keep her on the right path.
With luck, the witcheress may be able to rescue Geralt, too.
