My journey and how I got here.

So I'm not the best at remembering dates but from what I remember I've been on my witchcraft journey for a little over two years now, it seems crazy that I've known myself in this way for so long but upon reflection I've come to realize that my life has always been leading my down this path and it was just a matter of time before I stumbled upon witchcraft and I thought it would be good to reflect upon my journey with you guys.

I have always been interested in the magickal and unusual but it was only a few years ago when that interest became something I chased beyond childhood daydreams and hopes of seeing a fairy in the woods around my town. I think this may be the way many witches start their journeys but there are many other ways into the craft.

I began to learn about witchcraft right here. I had a fandom themed tumblr account on which I searched many corners of tumblr from music to fashion and, of course, witchblr. It intrigued me and after a bit of research and looking around then I made this account purely for witchcraft. After a few months I figured out where my interest was leading me.

It didn’t take me long to come out of the broom closet so to speak to my best friend (who is also now a witch) and then maybe a year later I became totally public as a witch. Even people at my college know about it and let me tell you, it’s lead to some interesting conversations both positive and negative. But I don’t really regret telling people about my craft and I’m grateful that I am able to talk to people about it with judgement being the worst consequence.

It is important to remember that not everyone can be open to everyone but to appreciate and support those who cannot be open. There will always be judgement as there is with most things but it won’t kill you and they cannot hurt you so just take a deep breath and ignore them. I’m always here to talk if anyone needs to.
