Witchcraft is messy business.
There's no perfection in witchcraft, because perfection doesn't exist. Witchcraft is too real to be perfect.
I don't always have a beginning and an ending for my spells. I don't have an opener and closer for everything. Sometimes I go in almost blind and improvise as I go along. I lose my train of thought, then make stuff up. I light a candle while I shuffle my tarot cards and call it "grounding and centering" before a reading. My scrying mirror has a pink blanket with Hello Kitty on it for a covering, because I don't have anything else big enough for it, and the cats used to sleep on that blanket. I make a hell of a mess with candle waxes and incense ashes, then don't bother to clean my altar cloths. I have no system of catalog. I don't write things down, then forget about them later. I don't know where all my ingredients are (some of them are scattered in the kitchen cabinets). I don't even know how many pieces of crystals I own. I lose track of moon phases, then have no idea what I want to do for a full moon or a new moon. I misplace my things, then blame it on the moon phases that I'm not keeping track of.
Be the raw, messy, imperfect, real, beautiful witch that you are, be proud of and love yourself for it!
This witch wants...
A coven of three... consisting of myself, florence welch and stevie nicks.
The love i have for these two ladies, there music, there image, just everything they are i love. They give out such pure witchy vibes.
We all know stevie is a witch... i wonder if florence is too...certainly some of her songs do give off a witchy feeling.
That is why when i do spells and rituals i always have either of their music playing... magical.
Just a Thought.
Hi yeah...I really like to reblog things that have to do with witchcraft but I see A TON of Tumblrs and Witchblr blogs that tag “wicca”. You don’t have to tag a witchy post as wicca if you’re not wiccan. Personally, I’m less likely to reblog a post if it’s got a “wicca” tag. Spread the word, spread the love, spread the nondenominational witchcraft vibe! <3 It’s okay to be secular or non denominational - I just always feel swamped by religion when I go looking for new things...Just my personal opinion <3

Let's talk about fear.
It's ok to be afraid. It's normal. Never having fear for anything is not brave, but reckless. Fear keeps us alive.
There's much to our craft that's not easily perceivable by the senses. There's much that's elusive, mysterious, scary even. We walk along the line that divides our world from the supernatural realm, much of which is unknown and not easily understood by the mundane. Our gift allows us to venture to places where others either know no access to or dare not go. Our abilities can take us far, often times even beyond our own expectations and understandings. And that can scare us, because we're humans after all, and there's no way to tell just how far we can go.
For those of us solitary ones, diving into things alone can feel particularly scary. After all, there's so much we still don't know, and we'll never have all the answers. And should things go awry, it can feel like we're on our own.
But as with all other skills, you get better as you practice. Your confidence will grow as you get to know yourself and your craft. There are things that used to frighten me, but now I'm merely cautious of them. That doesn't mean I'll ever stop being cautious. There are certain areas that should always be tread very carefully. Complacency is as dangerous as ignorance.
Learn to trust your intuition, and follow your conscience. If you're really not comfortable with something, it's ok to steer clear of it. If you're up for the challenge but feel intimidated because you're unsure of yourself and/or your experience, know that it'll be a process, and that everyone is a beginner of something at some point. Don't ever be afraid to ask for help. You never have to go through anything completely alone.
Even those of us seasoned witches still carry self doubts and uncertainties. Much of what we do has no definite right or wrong answers, and we always seem to have more questions than answers. But that's also the beauty of our craft. We will never run out of places to explore and things to learn.
Remember, fear is natural. Brave, even. It's always ok to be afraid.
Confession time.
I do go through times when I think and worry about being misunderstood. There are times, when I can't help but feel like even those who know me so well, those who love me, might be a bit scared of me and wary in my presence. Of course, we all joke about the witch stuff with each other all the time. Then there are those brief, fleeting moments, when a little voice in the back of my mind can't help but ask, "wait, but are you actually serious?"
For as long as I've been practicing my craft, you'd think I should be way over this by now. It's true that I've long ago learned to live with society's misconceptions and doubts that'll always be around. After all, the only one who truly understands who I am and what I do is me. I'm very fortunate to be in an environment where I'm accepted and even at times, embraced; where I can be a witch openly and freely, where there's never any need for me to hide. But I'm human. Every now and then, the little question of what do they really think of me does pop into my mind.
