For Halloween or any party with a witchy theme, these Witch's Hat Cupcakes are a fun and scary treat. They'll charm your guests with their chocolate cake, smooth frosting, and chocolate witch hats.
Ingredients: 1 box of chocolate cake mix. 1 cup of water. 1/2 cup of vegetable oil. 3 large eggs. 1 cup of chocolate frosting. 12 chocolate ice cream cones. Black food coloring gel. Orange food coloring gel. Green food coloring gel. 12 Oreo cookies. 1/4 cup of powdered sugar.
Instructions: Preheat your oven to 350F 175C and line a cupcake pan with cupcake liners. In a mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs. Mix until smooth. Fill each cupcake liner about two-thirds full with the cake batter. Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a cupcake comes out clean. Allow the cupcakes to cool completely. While the cupcakes are cooling, mix some black food coloring gel into the chocolate frosting until it reaches a dark black color. Carefully remove the tops of the chocolate ice cream cones using a sharp knife. Place an Oreo cookie upside down on each cupcake, using a small amount of frosting to adhere it in place. Using a piping bag or a plastic sandwich bag with the corner snipped off, pipe a ring of black frosting around the base of each Oreo cookie to create the witch's hat band. Place the prepared chocolate ice cream cones on top of the Oreo cookies, securing them with a little more frosting. Mix the orange food coloring gel into a small amount of frosting and pipe a thin orange ribbon around the base of each witch's hat. Mix the green food coloring gel into another small amount of frosting and pipe a green buckle onto each witch's hat. Dust the top of each cupcake with a sprinkle of powdered sugar for a magical finish. Your Witch's Hat Cupcakes are ready to cast a spell on your taste buds!
