Thursday Prosperity Ritual and Invocation to Juno
I sing of golden-throned Hera whom Rhea bare. Queen of the immortals is she, surpassing all in beauty: she is the sister and the wife of loud-thundering Zeus,- the glorious one whom all the blessed throughout high Olympus reverence and honor even as Zeus who delights in thunder. - To Hera, Homeric Hymn 12
Juno (or Hera) is one of the few goddesses associated with the fourth day of the week in her own right, and so it is a special thing to consider her on Thursday. It doesn’t hurt, either, to honor her above the rest once in a while, as both her pride and her wrath are well known!
Juno, in her aspect of Juno Moneta, is the patron of coin, abundance, and prosperity. One of her sacred stones with which she is associated is malachite, known as the peacock stone, and a crystal known to encourage and enhance health and prosperity.
Gather together a malachite stone, a peacock feather, 3 small stalks of dried wheat, 1 green jar candle (to last seven days), honeysuckle, peppermint, or clove oil, and a coin. Other supplies you will need are a clean dropper, a lighter, and a long, thin screwdriver. Don’t be afraid of not having everything here perfect; items which represent the wheat and feather are fine too (such as craft items from a craft store).
Carefully push the screwdriver straight down from the top of the candle, creating three holes. Drop three drops of oil down each hole inside the candle. Hold the candle and imagine yourself filling it with your energy and intention, in particular the reason for your invocation (prosperity). Then place the candle on top of your coin. Arrange the stone, wheat, and feather however you wish around the candle.
As you do this, chant:
“By the power of three times three Bring prosperity now to me!”
When you feel ready, light the candle and repeat the following invocation:
“Juno Moneta, Roman goddess of prosperity Lend your power to this elemental spell I weave Juno Augusta, mother of the harvest, hear my plea These three golden stalks of wheat are a gift to you from me A peacock feather for air, and a malachite for earth Lady, bless me with success, abundance, and rebirth For the good of all, with harm to none In Juno’s Name, this spell’s begun!”
Allow the candle to burn out, and relight the candle until it has burned completely (5-7 days). Carry the malachite and coin with you during this time and crumble the wheat outside as an offering for Juno. Display the feather prominently where you will see it every day. Whenever you see it, thank the goddess Juno for her aid.
This ritual is longer than the others, but whenever you invoke Juno, be sure to show yourself very humbly.
