Alright kids, settle down it's story time...
Here's a bit of background: So I was walking home today and it's literally pouring it down, the paths are covered in huge puddles. I'm also the deputy head girl, and being one of the few white people in my school, the majority of people either know me, or my face.
Now the story: For a few weeks now while walking home, a boy (He goes to the same school, I see him around as he's in my house and he's seen me during assemblies etc. though I don't know who he is properly.) is usually slightly in front of me, he often turns around and smiles, so I smile back being polite, he does this several times as we walk the same way. It crossed my mind a few days ago that he might be trying to talk to me, but I haven't seen him until today. So I'm walking down the street and he catches up to me, walking next to me. I look up and return the smile he gives, after a few moments he speaks to me.
Him: "You're the yellow house rep aren't you?" Me: "Yeah, deputy head." Him: "Ah, it's nice to meet you." Me: "It's nice to meet you too. What house are you in?" Him: "Yellow..."
Before he can finish his sentence he ends up slipping and falling into a huge puddle, and I mean literally laid down in it. I help him up and ask if he's alright, he say's he is then says bye and runs off.
I know it's not my fault but I feel so bad, I feel like bad luck, he'll never talk to me again. He seemed pretty embarrassed so I'm guessing if I see him on Monday I shouldn't really ask if he's alright or it'll embarrass him more.

With Hammers and Nails | Heather, Poppy & Heath
Poppy paced nervously through her apartment, checking on the casserole in the oven and drinking copious amounts of wine, wondering if she wouldn’t rather just tie a noose around her neck right here and now than have the impending conversation she knew tonight would come to. God knows she loved Heather more than anyone and anything, but this secret she’d been keeping from her didn’t feel ready to be spilled.
But Heather wasn’t dumb; quite the contrary, she was a brilliant and amazing young woman who’d caught onto Poppy’s odd behavior lately like a bunny to the scent of a clover. Tonight they’d made plans to hang out with the premise that Heather wanted to talk about her interesting little meeting with the new guy in town, Thane Lovell. That would prove to be a very question filled conversation on Poppy’s part, but she knew Heather also had inquiries of her own.
About Heath.
Julia hadn’t kept the secret quite the way Poppy had hoped the little girl would. The moment they’d left Heath alone in that room at Julia’s birthday party, they’d gone to find Heather. Poppy’s friend had been frantic in her search for Julia, chiding the child softly at running off. Julia changed the subject rather quickly though, petting Penelope absentmindedly as she told Heather all about how she’d caught Ms. Poppy and Mr. Zach’s brother-- the one that was always scowling-- kissing in the family room.
Heather had been shell-shocked, that much was obvious. No matter how bad she felt about it, Poppy still hadn’t been able to bring herself to tell Heather about all that had gone on between her and Heath since that initial meeting at his garage.
But tonight that would change. And Christ, how was Poppy going to explain to her best friend that she’d slept with him of all things, and that she was steadily on the path of falling for him, to boot. She wasn’t ashamed of her feelings; or of Heath. But she knew Heath didn’t want this thing they had going-- whatever it may be-- getting out, and while she trusted Heather with every fiber of her being, it was still going to feel a bit wrong to break Heath’s trust.
Didn’t matter now anyways; Heather was knocking on the door and dinner was almost ready and Penelope was hopping excitedly as Heather called Poppy’s name when she didn’t move to answer the door right away. “Coming!” Poppy said frantically, opening the door with a bright smile. “Come on in, love. I’m making your favorite casserole, the kind with the sage and brie in it that you like so much!” She ushered Heather in, offering to take her friend’s coat. “Now, waste no time, spill all about this Thane guy. I’m dying to know!”
Girl Talk | Heather & Poppy
“Penelope, knock it off,” Poppy said, setting the two glasses and bottle of wine down on her coffee table. The little garden rabbit was chewing at the edge of the couch again, which Poppy did not have the time right now to stitch back up. Poppy clucked her tongue at the rabbit, shooing Penelope away and shaking her head in mute affection.
The oven’s timer went off behind her and she rushed around the couch into the open space of her kitchen, turning the timer off and putting on oven mitts. She grabbed out the pan full of the cinnamon rolls she’d made earlier, setting it down on the stovetop to let them cool. Heather was a sucker for pastries as much as Poppy herself was– and messing around with baking stuff made both girls feel childish and giddy. Poppy still had a dress she needed to take to the cleaners that Heather had flung pancake batter on the last time they’d had a sleepover.
Grabbing the bowl of icing from the fridge, Poppy set it down next to the pan. She was wearing a pair of old leggings and a baggy shirt just in case Heather got any bright ideas about an icing fight.
Smiling, Poppy switched on her radio to a soft pop station. It wasn’t her favorite genre, but it was good background noise for her and Heather to talk over. She was just about to put Penelope in her pen when there was a knock on the door.
Poppy fumbled back through the kitchen, yanking the door open and smiling at the lovely blonde on the other side. It’d been a week since Poppy had gone with Zach Celton to see his brother, Heath, and she was dying to talk to her best friend about it.
“Hiiii!” Poppy said happily, throwing her arms around Heather and dragging her inside. “How are you, love?”
