Origin & Description: Though it's nicknamed “Blighting Lion" for its tube-launcher frame, Witherhoard has more in common with the Heavy grenade launcher Anarchy aka the lord high king of all jank weapons and one of my favorite toys, and serves as an acceptable substitute when killjoy DPS-hungry "bosses" or "challenging enemies" make you change your loadout. While Anarchy is a wondrous instrument, its total damage output is limited by the game's hidden ceiling on its stacking, which tops out at two grenades; sticking any more than that on a single target won't increase the damage. So when it comes time to shred a boss Anarchy isn't exactly the high-DPS weapon of choice. For those situations, there's Witherhoard: an Anarchy-lite that uses Special ammo and sits in the Kinetic slot so you can equip a non-exotic DPS-focused Heavy weapon.
Every jank weapon must have a jank inventor, and while Anarchy derives from the eliksni, the original masters of Destiny jank, Witherhoard is the brainchild of that only-slightly-less experienced salvager, kitbasher, and generalized scrounger: the Drifter. Witherhoard is one of drifty boi's pet projects, his inverse Mountaintop: a way to directly weaponize the Taken energy he's bribed us into collecting in his Gambit banks. Half exquisite metalwork balanced over years of tinkering to confine restless Taken energy yet still unleash it on cue, half whatever he had lying around glued on to finish it up, Witherhoard vents the pressure of its payload - which has some amount of consciousness and does not want to be in a grenade launcher - through two small piercings in its intricate latticeweave barrel that function as sights, much like the two tiny fiery jets on Sunshot. We can't be sure when he finally got it working, but he hands it over to us (or at least a copy of it) in Season of Arrivals because the Pointy Bois are here and it's time to bring out the big guns, or at least the big Darkness-manipulating breech-loading grenade launchers.
When you fire Witherhoard it lobs a charge in a long arc that burns more like a flare than an explosive, leaving a long trail of black-white-green Taken energy. If the shot hits the ground it'll splash outwards into an Unenjoyable Circle, as in, "If you go into this circle you will not enjoy what happens next," and any opponent standing inside this fountainlike blight will steadily take damage. If the shot hits a target instead of a surface it'll snarl that target in a tangle of green-white energy, inflicting damage over time and spilling out into a new blight when that target dies. These blights don't chain since the drop-on-death effect only occurs if a Witherhoard shot strikes the target directly, but it's still a quick way to do a lot of damage over time with a single shot. So much like Anarchy Witherhoard can be used to inflict continuous damage either focused on a single target or spread across an area of effect as a means of territory denial and crowd control. Using Special instead of Heavy ammo also makes it usable in PvP, where its sickly green-white splashes frequently burst across the ground in territory-denial matchups.
Witherhoard's a fun time and a great new option in the kinetic slot, and you can tell how much drifty boi cares about this weapon. I'm sure the carefully-sculpted snake skeleton that runs along the top of the barrel is a key ritual component and not at all because drifty boi thinks Snakes Are Cool. Despite his universal "whatever, couldn't care less" attitude, you can always tell, because it's beautiful. He'll kitbash together the weapons he hands out in Gambit, but when he makes something genuinely new, like Witherhoard or Malfeasance, he also makes it beautiful. And snake-themed. He just really likes snakes, you guys.

“There are bad ideas, and then there are bad ideas. This is the latter.”
“Oh come on. Where’s your sense of adventure?”
“Where’s your sense of self-preservation? How in nine hells do you think it’s even remotely safe—never mind acceptable on other grounds—to go around lobbing exploding canisters of harvested Taken goop?”
“I think it melts the hell out of all manner of big baddies, and that it’s safer with said baddies gone. Seems perfectly acceptable to me.”
“Still gonna feel that way when you get sick from leaking Taken radiation? How about when some of that shit gets on your Ghost and corrupts it? Why don’t you just go over to the damn Darkness already, if you don’t care how dirty your hands get, so long as you can fight?”
“Hey, we’re still on the same side, here. Maybe I am a little more willing to, uh, color outside the lines to take care of business—and yeah, I don’t mind the extra risk.”
“That’s well and good for you, but how about everyone around you? You think it’s OK to just splatter your fireteam with that crap? You know they call it blight because it’s bad, right?”
“Maybe it is, but sometimes bad can work for us, help us keep doin’ good.”
“You keep telling yourself that, then. But keep that damn thing away from me.”

How to Complete the Bank Job and Get the Witherhoard Catalyst in Destiny 2
Finally, the much-awaited season of Destiny 2 has arrived and is known as the Season of Arrival. Gamers worldwide are praising it a lot, especially for the changes that Bungie has done in the game. Besides, several new aspects have also been included in the game, such as new currency, weapons, and gears. However, some of the newly added aspects are interlinked to the Season Pass. Thus, the gamers have to buy a Season Pass to unlock those elements.
Witherhoard is a new grenade launcher, and players are super-excited to attain it for free. Bungie, in contrast, has added a catalyst quest that can help gamers to obtain various essential items and weapons for free. Below we have provided a proper workaround to find and accomplish the Witherhoard Catalyst in Destiny 2.
About Witherhoard
Before proceeding further to the process of finding the Catalyst quest, let us first brief the gamers about Witherhoard. Witherhoard is an advanced grenade launcher that requires a special type of ammo. When the Witherhoard fires, its grenades thrash out the ground where the enemy lies. Thus, the enemy will find it hard to maneuver against its attack.
How to Find the Witherhoard Catalyst Quest in Destiny 2
The gamers need to understand this fact that the season pass is interlinked with the Witherhoard. Thus, the only possible way to start the Witherhoard Catalyst is through Season Pass. Once the gamers have successfully obtained the Season Pass, then they have to claim the Witherhoard. Afterward, they need to start the Catalyst quest, and the first task will be the Bank Job. It is one of the quests from Witherhoard Catalyst quest, and in this, the gamers have to unlock the bank vaults, which are situated in the Tower’s Banshee-44.
Where to Get the Vault Keys in Destiny 2’s Bank Job Quest
Gamers need to initiate the following process by collecting the vault keys. Although it seems to be an easy task, the key numbers make it intricate; there are a total number of 50 vault keys. Alongside this, there are several guards deployed by the game AI to protect the keys. The gamers should use a Kinetic grenade launcher to slain those guards.
Additionally, players can also go with the option of Witherhoard grenade launcher, which they have just obtained. Once gamers have selected their preferred weapon, then they need to choose a perfect loadout. We recommend them to go with the Fighting Lion because they work perfectly with the special slot. While with the Kinetic grenade launcher, they must use the Mountaintop as it works best with Kinetic slots. Once gamers have implemented all the changes mentioned above, they should start finding the keys for the vault.
Several players, especially ones from the Twitch, have stated that a grenade launcher ammo mod is also needed to take down the guards. However, we still suggest that these sorts of actions are unnecessary, and the gamers only focus on the weapon alongside loadouts. Afterward, the gamers have to visit Castellum of Leviathan, Escalation Protocol, the Shattered Throne, and the Shadow Thrall areas to attain the keys. Players simply need to start killing the guards that are deployed on these locations. Soon the gamers will start getting the keys through drops from the guards. Once gamers have obtained all the 50 keys, then they need to move further to the next process.
How to Collect Filthy Lucre in Destiny 2
Once the gamers have accumulated all the 50 keys of the vaults, then they have to collect a specific item known as Filthy Lucre. The gamers who have played the previous season must be familiar with the Filthy Lucre. However, we understood that the new players would find it hard to relate to the Filthy Lucre item. It is a special item of the Destiny 2 world that can only be obtained by accomplishing the strikes.
The gamers should start taking part in the Nightfalls, Crucible, and Gambit match. The following process requires the gamers to collect at least 300 Filthy Lucre, and for that, the players have to accomplish at least 100 matches. The veteran gamers will certainly accomplish 100 matches in 3 to 5 games, whereas new gamers will surely find it difficult to win even ten matches, but as time passes, they will probably win 100 matches.
Once the gamers have successfully grabbed 300 Filthy Lucre, then they have to accomplish one mission in the end to get the Witherhoard Catalyst. The task is to obtain 100 Guardian kills through grenade launchers in Gambit and Crucible matches. When the gamers accomplish this task, then they need to visit the Banshee-44. Afterward, they need to use the keys to unlock all the 50 vaults, and in one of those vaults, the gamers will find the Witherhoard Catalyst.

Moreover, we have provided a guide to find Witherhoard Catalyst quest, vaults keys, Filthy Lucre, and get the Witherhoard Catalyst.
