Numbers! 2 - 6 - 8 - 11 - 17 - 21
omg, thank you!! i was hoping someone would send something!!!
2. what will you tend to do at nights, when you can’t sleep?
you mean besides cursing the gods and shaking my fist at the heavens while crying angry tears? if i somehow manage to fall asleep and then wake up, i’ll usually just lay in the dark and sulk. if i just cannot drift off i’ll watch disney movies and mindlessly scroll through tumblr and pinterest.
6. hardest thing to do when you are flaring?
okay, other than absolutely everything, i really struggle with just... sitting still. i just want to push myself, and work as hard as i possibly can. i want to work all day everyday so i can get my life back on track. it’s infuriating, but i know i have to just lay on the couch and space out with netflix.
8. favorite comfort food?
i tend to just gorge on junk food tbh. i looove chocolate and soda tho omg.
11. how old were you when you started noticing symptoms?
well, i’ve always been kinda... sickly? i’ve always missed lots of school, and it was usually because i was so damn exhausted. like, i could not make myself get out of bed. (i didn’t realize until a year or two ago that i was basically flaring or going through PEM lol)
however, i didn’t start really noticing things until mid to late 2011, when i was 16. i mean, i had to take a 2-3 hour nap after school every single day, and i never ever did that before. i mean, sure i’d take a nap every so often if i hadn’t slept well the night before or whatever, but i was constantly exhausted. i kept falling asleep in class, which was something i never did before. my grades were slipping big time. i missed more and more school. i’d be absent at least once a week. it was like my energy levels were getting smaller and smaller, and there wasn’t a damn thing i could do about it. finally i just stopped going to school in late january/early february 2012 because i was so sick, and by march of 2012 i was diagnosed with CFS/ME.
17. one symptom you would love not to have?
i’d do almost anything to not deal with this awful fatigue. like.. i could do all the things if i wasn’t so exhausted all the time. i can manage the pain, but the fatigue kicks my ass all day, everyday.
21. any natural supplements, powders or alternative treatments you would recommend others try?
um, yoga, obviously (/sarcasm). oh god, i’m sorry, i couldn’t resist. bad joke, very very bad joke. i do not recommend yoga!!!!!!
i don’t really want to sit here and say “try this! it really works!” because that’d make me sound like an infomercial, and just a bad person in general. also, i haven’t really found anything that works. i don’t take anything for CFS/ME because i tend to develop the nasty side effects. i mean, okay, i take vitamin d and fish oil, and i think there might be a sliiiiight difference in how i feel, but it’s more likely that i’m bullshitting myself.
thank you so much for the ask!!!! <3 i love this spoonie version!!!!
