11: Collarbone Kiss

Wrapping his arms around Mink's waist Aoba got closer. He was already on tip toes and he could barely reach the taller man's chin.

He kissed the only place he could reach without Mink leaning down. Slightly above the collar bone where some of the man's tanned skin was exposed. The, he tightened his embrace, gently nuzzling  his cheek where he'd previously kissed.

The sound of surprise he made when he was shoved against the wall had possibly not been very attractive and he had almost dropped the half eaten hamburger he'd been holding.

Day 5 of free dinners week with Mink. 

After their first meal together (that went much better and was a lot more pleasant than what Aoba had expected), Mink walked with Aoba all the way across the Old Residents District to the club he worked. Aoba tried to protest but Mink just grumbled, with sort of a final tone, that he had business that way as well. 

And so, things had been that way for the last five days. He'd meet up with the Mink at dinner time, they had dinner (always in a different place everyday) and then they walked together to the seedy club area. He would be lying through his teeth if he said he didn't enjoy the serene but nice company of the older man... They sometimes talk about trivial things over dinner, but Aoba found himself having fun with their quite talks and the delicious food. Sometimes they just spent most of their mean in (surprisingly) comfortable silence, but that was ok too. Some other times Mink would tease him with an unusual slightly smug tone until he started blushing and Aoba gave him dirty looks (pouts).

Independently of how they spent it, in that half an hour he was truly relaxed for a change and that felt pretty good.

... These meetings where starting to feel more and more like dates and Aoba seriously started to freak out. Was that... What should he do? He didn't know what to think about that.  He felt more and more nervous each day before leaving his apartment to meet the older man, even if he know that he would be relaxed and having fun...

While they walked side by side, Mink smoking his pipe, Aoba tried to finish his hamburger while thinking over the best way to bring the subject up.

He couldn't just ask, 'Yo, so are we dating or...' that would not only be very embarrassing but also not-

Aoba's brain was overloading with worry. They were in an deserted back street near the backdoor of his club and before he knew it, his was being shoved against the wall. The tall looming figure pressing his body against his and when their lips met Aoba forgot to breath for a moment and started feeling slightly dizzy.

Well, seemed like Mink had seen through him and now he had his answer. 

Mink's thigh was between his legs, spreading them apart and pressing against his crotch. Aoba felt the man's arms encircle his waist and pulling him closer as he tilted his head in a better angle and sensually licked Aoba's bottom lip in permission for-

Ah, shit. But-

Aoba pushed Mink away with both his forearms on the bigger man's chest, "Wait. Wait, wait a second."

Mink straightened and looked down at him in confusion (and perhaps some doubt too?).

"J-just give me a second," Aoba muttered nervously while he carefully wrapped the half eaten hamburger. He was embarrassed, overly conscious and nervous, but food was food. He put it in his bag, to eat later, set the bag on the floor beside his feet. 

"Ok. Ok, I'm good now." His voice was shaky and his hands trembled but he got on tip toes, wrapped his arms around Mink's neck to pull him down and promptly continued where they left off. 

Seemed like he was going to late for work.

"Alright then," Mink said, softer now as he shifted to stand straight again, reaching into his back pocket for tobacco to stuff in his pipe. "What should I do for you then, pay you back for your time? In what? Money? Or..something else?" Mink’s voice took on a different tone at that, a deeper one, lined with something not place able at first. Was he…trying to flirt?

Although the change of tone was noticed, Aoba interpreted it as simple teasing and taunting.

He was way to prideful to flat out ask for money from Mink like that. No, there had to be another way or him to-

There was a low growling sound from his stomach... and it gave Aoba a brilliant idea. Yes, this would solve one of his most concerning problems at least.

"Dinner." He announced as he looked the taller man in the eye, almost as if he was challenging him, "... For this whole week. In a place of my own choice."

Someone else paying for his meal, that wouldn't be anything close to convenience store lunches and instant ramen sounded like heaven.

"I do not know much about love, but I can write a letter of advice. You're strong, never let anyone break you. You've got enough going for you to get anywhere you want in life, don't sit around and waste it. Always go where you want to, for your own decisions are the most important. -M."

The note was short but as his eyes went through the words they widened.

When he was finished his face was bright red and his head felt light, but he read it one more time before folding it carefully and put it away (in a safe place). 

Aoba probably wouldn't be able to look at it again.

These compliments, so honest sounding even if written, weren't easy to face without some shortness of breath and quickened heartbeat. Especially from someone so... 

(It didn't need a genius to figure out who M. was.)

Someone so many people admire him and at the time he was as easy to read and get through as a fortress. But he was obviously also a very reliable and a person you'll probably end up admiring and look up to.

He definitely wouldn't be able to look at it again... But just knowing it was there was enough. 

The words were memorized and when remembered them (especially when he needed to), Aoba smiled.

Aoba froze and then put a hand over his mouth, because listening to Mink say ‘cutie pie’ was strangely endearing.
