again, i don't think i follow many snow whites but these two are just flawless. i find snows character really fucking annoying. like, i can't really abide her. but with these portrayals, i just ——- my dislike is lost. i can enjoy the character through their writing.

        Why he'd accepted the suicidal quest, Autolycus had little clue. An attack on the royal guard, to risk rousing the wrath of the Evil Queen, outnumbered in every way; those were grim odds for anyone, bounty hunter or prince, even for someone as skilled as he. But the price had been good, his weight in gold upon the deaths of five men. Who had he to resist such an offer, even if it meant tromping around for a day, dressed as one of the Queen's puppets?

        It was uncomfortable. Black, a roasting oven in the heat of the day. Constricting, and the amour itself limiting movement and sight. It was.. well, it was simply untactful.  How the Evil Queen convinced her guards to wear these horrors, the bounty hunter didn't want to know. It involved torture or some eccentric spell casting, he was certain, for even when he was a solider he would have rather been flayed alive then wear one of these dreadful things every day. Good thing that he'd only be wearing it for a few minutes longer.

        A few minutes that passed as if drawing out eternity, sweat dripping down an armored back, hands itching to hold steel knives. And finally-- finally, the forests closed around them; the five guards marching in front of him, back towards their Queen, and himself. Out of sight of prying eyes, out of sight of the Queen's minions-- or, at least, the ones that he didn't plan on killing here.

        A keen eye on the bodies in front of him, moving, unknowing, unsuspecting, and a hand slipped under blackened metal. A blade flashed out, above his head, catching the fading sun, just as the forest in front of him rustled with life.
