neal knew exactly where emma was when she blatantly ignored his texts this morning. that woman loved her sleep, so it was usually his job to get her going. unlike emma, neal had always been a morning person, especially when he was motivated by the looming failure of college assignments. it only took a small, signature knock before emma's roommate answered the door. neal offered her a smile and a non-fat cinnamon chi tea latte as he entered into the room. it was a simple, yet effective way of buttering her up to let him in. he could always count on her to make courting emma a bit easier, lord knows that she didn't. however, he was persistent and truly cared for her well-being, hopefully the rest would follow.
he snuck a quick peek into her bedroom to make sure she was decent and still sleeping. after poking his head in, the rest of his body followed as he waltzed over to her bed. he set down her usual coffee order on the bedside table, and placed the brown paper bag containing a bear claw right next to her head. " good morning, sunshine." he exclaimed as he removed the blinds from the window, allowing the bright sunlight to break through into her room. " we have class in 10, and you have a breakfast to eat."

OVERALL OPINION: i love the way they work out with emma ( also the fact she ships emma + neal for all the way because i always loved them so much ) but also because i love the way they work emma out, the way they write her ( prefectly actually ) one of the best and if not my favorite emma here.

She’s not ready to let Emma go, to bear the burden of being Henry’s only parent, the less liked one anyways and although she knows deep down in her heart that she had worked out most of the kinks in her relationship with her son, the force of Emma’s death would again shake them until they would most likely pass each other with barely there smiles and sorrow trailing them like an angry cloud, but the hope that Emma can survive this still sits in her chest like a heavy rock that will not go away, one she hopes will never leave too, if she has to convince herself yet again, that there has to be a way to save the dark one.
“We saved Rumple once... I’m sure... I’m sure we can find some way for you” her hand strokes platinum blonde hair that slowly turns back into the golden hue it once was and Regina almost thinks she might see that blasted red leather jacket adorn the saviour in her final moments in some form of closure, before she flutters her eyes closed and pushes the thought of holding a dead body instead of a live one to her chest away.
She never wished for Emma’s death, perhaps once, a long time ago, but now the relationship between them demands more than cold cut revenge and simple sassy remarks, it demands loving gestures and heartfelt apologies, all of which Regina just cannot seem to voice, but instead simply stroke the saviours hair, humming a tune with tears streaking down her cheeks while her hope dwindles with every minute the Charming gang leave her alone with the former dark one to search for a way to save their daughter.

He stood staring at out the lake, dagger in hand. He’d searched for months to figure this out and finally he had. He felt bad about leaving like this. He felt bad about the letter he’d left on the nightstand. He probably should have told Belle in person. But she would have stopped him, told him to find another way. But there wasn’t one. He knew. Only this dangerous mission that probably wouldn’t succeed and either way ended in his death. A life for a life after all. There wasn’t any other way. So here he stood, saying his final goodbye to the world as he prepared to go to the underworld once again.
He hadn’t expected to hear footsteps though. So he turned his head slowly, locking eyes with Emma. He didn’t know if Belle had already found his letter and called everyone to try and find him for if she just happened to be here, but he did know that this wasn’t part of his plan. “Sheriff Swan. To what do I owe this pleasure?”

neal couldn’t conceal his smile as emma spoke to him. her words were almost too good to be true. something he’d been waiting to hear again since they were teenagers. he made his feelings perfectly clear and to know that she loved him in return, the feeling was incomparable.
❝ i– i love you too em, you know that. i’ve loved you from the day you stole my car. are you sure this is what you really want? ❞

his hands covered emma's as he desperately tried to stop the wound from bleeding out. putting pressure on the wound, he couldn't focus on losing emma. the only thing he could focus on was getting her help. even though his tone was sullen and unchanging, the thought of losing emma wasn't something he bare.. not again. although, from the looks of it, he knew hope was currently in short supply. he would've wiped her tears, held her head in his hands if he wasn't trying to stop the sticky fluid from exiting her body.
❝ emma... stop --- i won't let you say your goodbyes yet. i was wrong -- everything H A S to be alright, because.. i need you. just hold on, okay? ❞
